Dolfan in NYC
I'll watch every second. And I will be annoyed as FUCK when Drag Race Season 12 is literally a season-long plug for the show. Then I'll watch Season 2. I am a sheep.

John from Cincinnati
With all the "best of the decade" lists coming out, I'm starting to get a better idea what my own list might look like. Lots of stuff I'd forgotten. Lots of stuff that aired in this decade that feels like it's been off air longer than that.
odessasteps
- TV theme knockoffs to pop songs are so irritating - in hindsight, Jeffrey Tambor replacing Dabney Coleman works. - i so do not remember Meg Foster as the original Cagney.
Craig H
Really sad to see Silicon Valley end. It ended on a really, really high note too. Actually, this whole final season was great. Pretty bummed to see that it's over now.

I popped in here to see if there was any discussion of Barry, which is likely the best show in forever... Imagine the show runners of Barry being turned loose to give us a TV adaptation of Bleak Warrior... It would be fucking epic. But I digress. I'm very interested to see where the Elric project goes and how much of an imprint the creator imparts to the work. Michael Moorcock (the creator) moved to Texas from the UK "for his failing health" some two decades ago. Seems to me that I have the issue of Locus around here somewhere that did everything aside from patting him in the face with a shove as far as memorializing him. It appears that Moorcock suffers from the same illness as Hyman Roth in Good Fellas, same heart attack has been killing him for twenty years. I make light of this, but for a guy in his eighties, Moorcock is every bit as prolific as most writers in their fifties or sixties . (By that age you've presumably reached the point where you are paid a reasonable sum for your work and you need only work on projects that you find interesting. The days of writing copy for cereal boxes and porn novels on the weekend should be long gone, leaving an author the chance to have input into adaptations of his/her work. Moorcock's input to such a project could be out of this world good as he's not just a writer, but a n amazing creative force, his fifty-year career in Hawkwind just seems to be a natural extension of his creative energies, (oh, did I mention that the man is in his eighties?) Yeah, they've got show runners attached to the project in order to shop it around, adding the creator to the team could only be a huge win for everyone connected with the property. 1

Little-known fact: The Hulkster was just cleaning up his own mess. Years before he slammed the original giant (Giant Haystacks) so hard that Viet Nam split into two distinct countries, the Commies (backed by the Chinese) grabbed the North and the French set up a puppet government in the South. Unfortunately, years later even a view of the Hulkster's 38-inch pythons wasn't sufficient to intimidate the North into surrender. Amazing what they fail to tell you in World History Class, isn't it?

Everyone at home would suffer terminal blindness from having their retinas seared while watching the first episode. If someone were crazy and brave enough to pull it off, I'd love them forever and they'd definitely would have a legit shot at winning the Emmy for visual effects and costuming... what little costuming there would be, of course. This times a million. Moorcock isn't just an author, he's a complete artist capable of easily translating his vision to other people so that they "get" where he's coming from. If he's not given total creative input, this thing won't be worth shit. This needs to be about bringing Elric to life and not just cashing in on another fantasy setting to fill the Game of Thrones void. Edited December 12, 2019 by J.T. quackhell
Reprisal on Hulu is very much style over substance, but I am digging the style a lot. It's whole 50s rockabilly world reminds me of Streets of Fire a bit. Worth a look to see if it is your cup of tea.

John from Cincinnati
I thought the streaming thread was about the services themselves and shows were discussed either here or in their own threads, ala Star Wars or The Good Place. Been waiting a while for this story to pop back. Striking a playful tone in an email to the cast and crew that's addressing sexual harassment is... definitely a bold move. Considering the he-said/she-said nature of many of these types of stories, the multiple references to Rashomon are too cute by a half. Write better.
