Gonzo Posted September 30, 2013 Share Posted September 30, 2013 I'm not sure what the Twins plan on doing next season, but the solid money is on them continuing to be horrible and most of the fan base complaining about Joe Mauer despite the fact that he's the best baseball player to put on a Twins' uniform since Kirby Puckett retired. Miguel Sano and Byron Buxton could be in the majors as soon as the middle of next year. Buxton was the minor league player of the year this year, and is absurdly good. Sano has power like you wouldn't believe. Be more concerned about that shitshow of a pitching staff and the bullshit pitch to contact philosophy being preached. Totally looking forward to Sano and Buxton. And I agree with the "pitch to contact" B.S. That was an okay philosophy when the Twins had one of the best defensive infields in the league. The other nine finalists for the 2014 Frick Award are: Joe Castiglione, Jacques Doucet, Ken Harrelson, Bill King, Duane Kuiper, Eduardo Ortega, Mike Shannon, Dewayne Staats and Pete van Wieren. The winner of the 2014 Frick Award will be announced on December 11 at the Baseball Winter Meetings and will be honored during the July 26 Awards Presentation as part of Hall of Fame Weekend 2014 in Cooperstown.
