GodzillaPerez
There is a tag team called the Flatliners in Ontario. Asylum and Matt Burns. They're pretty good and nearly won season 3 of "The Amazing Race Canada"

Bulldog, while not American, loves America and is inspired by the chant. That was always my way of rationalizing it. It must have got to him in the end though...I remember Jim Cornette ranting about fans chanting "USA" during Allied Powers matches as a reason why Davey Boy turned heel in 95

jstout
If you didn't read the Observer update, NJPW put up the recent Ricochet-Will Ospreay match up on YouTube for freesies. It's just ab-so-lutely fantastic.

It's just ab-so-lutely fantastic. I was more impressed by Ospreay's and Ricochet's athleticism than the actual match itself. It was a fun little spotfest, but I don't think it's going to hold up over time, and I imagine it's going to get way more consideration than it deserves when it comes time to put together MOTY lists. jstout
I never said MOTY, not at all. Especially in New Japan. But it is a fun little spotfest. It's a fantastic spotfest. It'll hold up over at least the short term because spotfests aren't going anywhere. I heard Rob Naylor on a podcast sum up wrestling beautifully - he loves WCW Saturday Night and guys flying around the ring. They're different, but they're both fun for him, so they're awesome. I agree. There's no reason why we can't have strong style and spotfests and good ol' American wrestling and southern-formula tags. There's plenty of different styles to like, so why not like them all? Heavy metal fans probably don't listen to JUST metal all the time, same with wrestling. This was a damn entertaining match in the spotfest category. Maybe MOTY should be extended like the Oscars. "And the winner for Best Spotfest is ..." then have one MOTY that's like Best Picture. "And the winner for Most Overbooked But Didn't Really Suffer Too Much from It and Was Still Cool" was Tanahashi vs. Omega from earlier this year, for example. But it's not a MOTY candidate. We could call them The Rippas~!
