Carrot and stick. People use it to mean you entice someone with the carrot and then beat them with the stick. Like a mixture of positive and negative reinforcement. Like in politics, they use it to mean a mixture of diplomacy and the threat of military action at the same time. The actual expression refers to tying a carrot to a stick and using the stick, not to beat the animal, but to hold the carrot in front of him so he will move forward. NO ONE IS BEATING ANYTHING WITH THE STICK@!!! WHY CAN NO ONE GET THIS RIGHT???? In what world does holding up a carrot to a horse, and then beating it with a stick get it to do anything other than bite your face off and take the carrot from your corpse?

Honma was the man in Big Japan and my favourite wrestler to watch at the time. He was so plucky and had all those goofy mannerisms (the biting shakiness being the tops). Death matches were atrocious 99% of the time until he and Yamakawa made an art of them against each other and as a team. Then John "JEEEEEZUS!" Zandig and co. came along and ruined everything. It's so cool that he's had this surge in New Japan and is the hottest act in the company outside of maybe... maybe Nakamura. If Gedo ever decides to pull the trigger with some actual Honma wins, he could have another star on his hands. I remember discovering the exotic Japanese death match stuff and then being so, so disappointed with the tapes when they arrived. That being the case until I popped those Big Japan '99 and '00 tapes in.

Man City are not reviled (except by fans of Man U and Chelsea). Arsenal and Liverpool fans are too busy looking inward at "What's gone wrong with our team" to be casting jealous eyes City's way. I liked his post for the part about if divas were treated the same way as the men, half of them would be gone, not for the comparison of their wrestling skills to a bear. Just watched old Mid Atlantic from Black History Month package. Holy shit. Briscos vs Steamboat/Youngblood. Valentine vs Hart (Horowitz). Bob Orton. Flair promo with Steamboat. That's a big pile of money. And speaking of money, "SOMEBODY TAKE THE DAMN MONEY!" This was a genius episode of wrestling.
