i hope they replace all the GMs with Vince McMahon throughout the decades.

'80s Vince in your choice of attires: commentator Vince, "Stand Back" Vince, WM3 opener Vince
'90s "Mr. McMahon" Vince
'00s ECW Champ doo-rag Vince (unlockable "i blew out both of my knees sliding into the ring" Vince)
'10s i dunno, how about "We Listen to Our Fans" Vince?
'20s just a gif of Vince laughing while sitting on a throne made of money

The AEW game will not come out until they're satisfied with the final product.

The matches in the gameplay will go quicker, well length wise like the older wrestling games of yesteryear.

To be fair, every game developer says that, CPR assured us the same thing ?

The AEW game is going to be interesting, building a game from the ground up is both expensive and risky. The expectations are going to be high so I understand them not rushing it, but they also risk fading interest if it doesn't come out until 2026. Especially if in the meantime, WWE improves their video game to the point its actually fun again.

What do you want out of a wrestling game right now? Cuz, Fire Pro is a lot of work to get the most out of it. Out of the box, it's just a fake fed with fictional wrestlers. There's DLC for Stardom and NJPW though. And Takayama. You can subscribe to creations online and download real wrestlers but again it's a bit of work. The engine is old but super fucking solid. Not easy to pick up but really great. So if you're looking for pick up and play, this ain't it. Want something with a robust edit mode, great community creations, probably still to this day the best engine going? This is it.

Is EWR still a thing? If so, what's the best version to use for Windows 11? And are there "real world" mods available for it?

I believe EWR 4.2 was the last version to ever be released before Ryland moved to Grey Dog Software and made TEW (which is WAY more in depth, and costs money).

Real world mods are available - https://www.homeofprowrestling.com/ has a lot of stuff, for both EWR and TEW, and also the MMA booking sim Ryland makes (and other things, like TNM and Promotion Wars). The EWB board has a dedicated EWR/TEW subforum where there are two people who make monthly roster updates for EWR - I highly recommend TheWho87's updates.

TEW is great if you have the time and dedication to booking in-depth, but EWR is fast and more "pick up and play" after you install the mods or scenarios.

There's also a thread somewhere in this forum dedicated to booking sims.

Thanks for the info, I would prefer something more pick up and play, and with Omega and other NJPW guys on the box art I was kinda assuming they were in the game as is. Sounds more like a pass for my interest level.

Then there are 2 DLC packs that add more NJPW guys and 2 STARDOM packs to add the women of Stardom.

They are in the game right out of the box. NJPW gave Spike Chunsoft permission to use the roster so it's not just a bunch of original wrestlers that resemble, say, Okada. Those are definitely still in the game, though.

The New Japan DLC is only for Jay White, Toa Henare, Takagi Shingo and Yujiro Takahashi. The Yoshihiro Takayama charity DLC adds him as a playable character, and the Stardom DLC adds Mayu Iwatani, Arisa Hoshiki, Starlight Kid, Kagetsu, Hazuki, Andras Miyagi, Momo Watanabe, Utami Hayashishita, Hana Kimura, Jungle Kyona, Saki Kashima, Tamu Nakano, Saya Iida, Bea Priestley, AZM, Natsuko Tora, Sumire Natsu, Konami, Giulia, DEATH Yama-san and Saya Kamitani.

I stupidly got the season pass because I am stupid, but I do hope the wrestler packs fill in the gaps with some of the more obscure NXT wrestlers (such as Sarray) and more Legends (ideally different ones than the same wrestlers we see every time). I don't want eight more versions of Austin or something silly.
