Zimbra Posted January 2, 2019 Posted January 2, 2019 Wow, I had no idea that Bob Einstein and Albert Brooks were brothers. That's crazy.
RIPPA Posted January 2, 2019 Posted January 2, 2019 Just now, Zimbra said: Wow, I had no idea that Bob Einstein and Albert Brooks were brothers. That's crazy. I had totally forgotten until Brooks tweet 1
Cliff Hanger Posted January 2, 2019 Posted January 2, 2019 Fuuuck. I remember seeing Super Dave on the edited version of "Bizarre!" which I was really too young to be watching for the most part. I pretty much just knew him as that character for a good 15 years before finding out about his being Brooks's brother, his run on the Smothers Bros show, and the other stuff he'd done under his own name.

sydneybrown Posted January 2, 2019 Posted January 2, 2019 What a shit day. And he was the same age as Okerlund. They were born only a month apart. One of the best deadpan comedians ever. Loved his interviews on the old Letterman show where Dave would make fun of him and he'd just stare back in frustration.
odessasteps Posted January 2, 2019 Author Posted January 2, 2019 When I used to listen to Lebatards show, he had Bob on regularly and was great. That Gilbert pod is making me cry with laughter.

(BP) Posted January 2, 2019 Posted January 2, 2019 I had no idea Captain’s name was Daryl Dragon. Truly a missed opportunity with Captain and Tenille when they could’ve been named Double Dragon. Anyway, RIP, Do it to Me One More Time is a jam, etc. 1
Guest Edwin Posted January 3, 2019 Posted January 3, 2019 You gotta be kidding me... First Mean Gene and now Marty Funkhouser... What a horrible way to kick off the New Year.
sabremike Posted January 3, 2019 Posted January 3, 2019 So many great memories of staying up late watching Super Dave on Showtime with my dad. RIP, hope Fuji Hakkaido is still with us.
J.T. Posted January 3, 2019 Posted January 3, 2019 There used to be a racy Canadian sketch comedy show on Showtime Late Night waaaaaaaay back in the day called Bizarre featuring John Byner. Bob Einstein was the show's producer. I only watched Bizarre for two reasons: 1. Boobs. 2. Super Dave Osborne sketches. RIP to an awesome human being and thank you for being a part of my taboo cable watching memories when was a kid sneaking in late night viewing to see what the adults were checking out. 1

Curt McGirt Posted January 4, 2019 Posted January 4, 2019 I watched Super Dave all the time on TV as a kid. Finding out he worked dirty outside that character warms my heart. RIP 1
odessasteps Posted January 8, 2019 Author Posted January 8, 2019 RIP William Morgan Shepherd, age 86. hard to beat being an RSC actor that goes on to be in Trek, Who and Max Headroom.
J.T. Posted January 23, 2019 Posted January 23, 2019 Kevin was also the co-creator of Rel, Lil Rel Howery's sitcom, on Fox. RIP.
