The Slurs are going to wake up with a serious hangover tomorrow, and then realize that they've agreed to give Kirk Cousins almost $20 million. It's just that a lot of people get deluded because of how horrible the local sports scene is and how whenever there seems to be a team on the rise they either choke in the playoffs and/or go back to being mediocre in the next season. He's a total question mark which is why the franchise tag is the best decision. Worst case/best case for slurs is he plays lights out this year and now they have to open the checkbook. You are right about Williams probably being third best of that bunch, the issue is will Williams take 'third best' money. I think tons of teams will want him (rightfully so) if he will accept an above average but not top 10 (top 5?) salary like he probably still wants. It will be interesting to see the market for him, the start of free agency is always a fun time to see if players are worth what they think they are. This is probably the most money he'll ever make, and if he balls out this season he'll be able to name his price. Being franchised is a win-win situation for Cousins. Apparently at the combine Jason Reid from the Washington Post had a conversation with someone from the team that went something like this. Reid: Are you going to sign Cousins to a long term deal.
