Craig H
Craig, why in gods name are you posting here and not watching the South Bend Cubs win on Opening Night on a Walk off Homer! *sigh* When tickets went on sale, I was all set to purchase three tickets for my daughter, my girlfriend and myself. Then I looked at the date, saw it was on a Thursday at 7 PM and thought there was no way I was doing that on a school night for my daughter. I figured she wouldn't even get to bed until after 10 PM. Flash forward to yesterday where it dawned on me that I goofed because my daughter is on spring break this week. Ugh. Once again, I thought about getting tickets, but we had pretty severe weather in the forecast. Like, possible tornadoes. Most forecasters were saying the storms would begin around 8 PM and I had no desire to get caught in weather like that. I've had that happened to me twice at Wrigley and it's just a nightmare. Plus, northern Illinois was getting pounded by severe storms and tornadoes. I passed on purchasing the tickets. 7 PM hits and the weather is beautiful and stays that way through 11 PM. We never had any severe weather here.

Raziel
Well, A-Rod suddenly remembering how to hit with RISP is something I could get used to again.
Kuetsar
Well, A-Rod suddenly remembering how to hit with RISP is something I could get used to again. DOn't get too used to it, I'm sure another Roid bust is coming sooner or later. . .
Cobra Commander
i'm kinda curious how collectively shitty the Yankees and Red Sox would need to get to no longer get prime time games
piranesi
i'm kinda curious how collectively shitty the Yankees and Red Sox would need to get to no longer get prime time games And yet, you can almost always count of them to do what they just did... piranesi
If anyone is watching this game, is anyone else getting this effect where the perspective they are using on the camera behind the pitcher is making the batter look comically large and the pitcher tiny? Raziel
Stop if you've herad this, but NY and Boston have gone into extra innings and are going all night.
Brian Fowler
Small sample size and all, but Tigers are off to a hell of a start. And I hope ARod just crushes the ball all season.
Nice Guy Eddie
Stop if you've herad this, but NY and Boston have gone into extra innings and are going all night. Now in the 15th inning as of 12:29 am. I'm on call for removals until 8:30 am, so I've got some time for extra baseball.

Niners Fan in CT
Braves are 4-0 now. I was like okay, so they picked the bones on the Marlins but a win over the supposed playoff contender Mets is nice too.
Death From Above
I approve of MLB's new policy of having the Red Sox and Yankees play an infinite game where they suffer endlessly, while the rest of the baseball season happens independently around them. The new commissioner is really getting things done.

He spoke of purity and hope. And truth. The tall grass.
odessasteps
Do they still have a curfew rule? I seem to recall as a kid you couldnt start an inning after x:00.
Hail Sabin
Smoltz and Costa are begging for the game to end at this point. A couple innings ago Costa was reading off his Snapple cap to fill time. We'll see if 3rd times' a charm for the Red Sox after that Sac Fly.

SirFozzie
The Red Sox take the lead in the 19th, someone queue up "Won't Get Fooled Again".. Actually, I think The Who were still touring when this game started.
