Kevin Wilson
I've seen enough 'false alarm' situations both personally and in the news that I don't just assume its always as claimed, but either way with it being the playoffs the Colts have to deactivate him. Dolfan in NYC
Indianapolis Colts' linebacker Josh McNary has been charged with rape. (Well, one count of rape, one count of battery, and one count of criminal confinement.) That sounds bad. Belichick strikes again.

odessasteps
Cross-postinG from the playoff thread @bkravitz: Breaking: A league source tells me the NFL is investigating the possibility the Patriots deflated footballs Sunday night. More to come. @bkravitz: I'm told at one point the officials took a ball out of play and weighed it. Should hear more tomorrow on this subject. @bkravitz: Told if a league investigation confirms deflated footballs it will result in lost draft picks. Stay tuned. Jerry Hattrick
This one doesn't make a lick of sense to me. It's not like Brady had his own ball and Luck had his. Wouldn't this had affected Luck along with Brady?
muhammedboehm
Unless there were kicking balls...but I wouldn't think you'd want to deflate those.

Wouldn't this had affected Luck along with Brady? Um, yeah they do. Although I'm not really sure that if affected the game that much, to be honest. Deflated balls don't mean anything when you're handing off to Blount and he's getting 8 yards a carry.
glfpunk
If it were the case though it would at least make you ask what else did they do? Instead of just dismissing it and saying yeah they cheated but they kicked their ass anyway so who cares?

Why would they have their own game ball anyway? I feel like there should be such an obvious answer.

Only thing with deflating balls I could think of is put a little more give for handling in the rain.
Brian Fowler
If it was just one of their 36 balls, I'd have to figure malfunction, not cheating. But if it was several... Why when they were just going to run the ball down Indy's throat anyway?
Raziel
Only thing I can think of was because the weather was shit and rainy, the deflated balls would be easier to hold on to for the RB's to stop them from fumbling.
Tabe
That's exactly the reason. Deflated balls are easier to handle when running.
