🎼 I went home with a waitress the way I always do. How was I to know she was with the Russians, too?

Well, NXT has their Halloween Havoc PLE this week! Lots of spooky and scary matches coming!

🎡 I was gambling in Havana, I took a little risk. Send lawyers, guns, and money! Dad, get me out of this, hiyah!

Over on Smackdown the long, long, LONG awaited debut of the MCMG finally came to pass. They'll be taking on #DIY this week!Β  That will be fun!

Β

🎢 I'm hiding in Honduras, I'm a desperate man... Send lawyers, guns, and money!  The shit has hit the fan!

Tonight! We get the World tag title #1 contender tournament, but we've got a bit of an odd entrant?

πŸ€” Indeed, the shit has hit the fan.

(I'm far too much of an Excitable Boy for this song.)

Enjoy the week.

Irvin definitely has been willing to go overboard in a very theatrical way (and people can feel however they want to on that; I tend to be positive), but some of it is that previous announcers were smacked down hard whenever they tried anything like that in the 2000s and 2010s. I think she was somewhat at the start but with the change in regimes was able to get through it.Β

(Granted, Arkady Aura tried to do something similar with Orange Cassidy's Wherever/whatever the other day and I didn't love that).

This may be a hot take, but I would put Samantha all the way up at No. 2 on the all-time list of greatest ring announcers.Β

(Fink is No. 1)

I love Samantha Irvin and I love the genuine passion she has for the business/job. It really shines through. Monday nights won't be the same without her.

Also saw thatΒ

Spoiler

Lilian Garcia

is backstage at Raw tonight.

Samantha Irvin has announced she is leaving the WWE soon.Β  Β The only way this isn't just horrible news is unless she is going to AEW and replace Justin Roberts

My top three:

1. Howard Finkel by far.

2. Gary Michael Cappetta.

3. Samatha Irvin.

Samantha is better at her job than Ricochet is at his, sad she's leaving as she added so much color and personality to the show.

Β

Paul Ellering shoving Miz out of the way to take a bullet for him in the year 2024 was wild.

Man, that main event was really great. I fell for a lot of the falls β€” especially Jey’s big splash, since I thought maybe The Bloodline came down to help him to try and woo him to the cause. The Jacob Fatu/Braun tease was incredible and man that’s a possible WM Main Event in two years. Bron licking his chops when he realized he had Jey dead-to-rights was awesome.Β

This stuff with Sami beating Bron and then Bron slipping up against Jey to get it back is really great. They just had a dominant Gunther run with the IC strap and you need to differentiate. Bron being ascendant but able to lose and willing to take shortcuts makes him so incredibly interesting.

This will bring Jey Uso back with Roman Reigns and Jimmy Uso. Just need Paul Heyman and Sami Zayn. You get WarGames with Reigns/Usos/Zayn vs. Sikoa/Fatu/Tonga/Loa at Survivor Series.

Dug the opening chaos with Bron and Seth going to wat and how it continued throughout the show.

New Day vs. Authors of Pain was decent lasted. Another fun bit of chaos with Truth getting some revenge and the Wyatt Sicks finally making the attack on Final Testament and Miz.

Io/Kairi vs. Liv/Raquel was a nice little showcase for Raquel and Damage CTRL before the DQ finish with Lash and Jakara making their presence felt. Rhea coming in once again to stand tall against Liv, Raquel, and Dom was fun to see though maybe a bit much. Enjoyed seeing Io and Kairi interact with Liv & Raquel earlier in the night ot set this up. Feels like we might be getting a slow build to War Games for the women with this stuff

Creeds vs. Rey/Dragon was pretty solid.

Jey/Bron was interesting. The actual ring work was solid with Bron looking great as an in control heel despite some weaker moments in the middle. The real drama was in the last third with the Bloodline interference and a good false finish that made you think Jey had a shot for just a moment. probably good for Bron to be champ again, but I was hoping Jey would get a slightly longer reign. I do like how all of this plays in the bloodline civil war and gives Jey an in for joining Roman without forgiving him.

Solid matches and segment s building up further stories for Crown Jewel and beyond.

Liked them using the usual entrance rundown to transition into the Bronson/Seth brawl. The fire Seth brought on the mic in the ring is a bit more what I was hoping for him with his return promo. Love the reaction that Bronson gets from the crowd.Β

Not a whole lot of thoughts on New Day/AOP between the commercial break and the in-ring action. Do love how a crowd can still get into the basics of tag wrestling like denying and then delivering the hot tag. Truth realizing already that Miz isn't his friend is massive character growth. Look forward to the Final Testament working with the Wyatt Sicks, both from a promo and match perspective.

I don't blame Lillian for her mistake, Dirty Dom is always accompanying us in our hearts. Io and Kairi were good opponents to establish Raquel's power game and Damage CTRL always gets the crowd into these matches. Not crazy about the MetaGirls leading to another no contest but does show they must be high on them with how much they've been featured. As I've said in past weeks, the heat remains between Rhea and Dom and not Rhea and Liv(or Raquel.)

I like the cocky meathead gimmick for the Creed Brothers, especially because the cockiness is kinda a built in transition for their feats of strength and athleticism. Happy to see Rey and Dragon Lee getting the win and wouldn't hate them taking the tag titles off Finn and JD.

The best thing to ever happen to Bron was his turning heel in NXT because it unlocked so much personality with him. It's nice seeing him take that to the next level and figure out how to manipulate the crowd during a match. Liked the idea that Jey's preoccupation with his family is ultimately what cost him the match because he's the one that attacked the Bloodline which led to his downfall. Also loved the crowd reaction for just Jacob and Bron facing off, that's a banger of a match in the future. Fine with them taking the belt off Jey since it's obvious where his near future lies and there are plenty of potential opponents for Bron.

Overall it was a good show and they're doing a good job of finding ways to feature the roster without having a third hour.Β

Announced for next week on Raw Talk: Zelina vs. Ivy and Kaiser vs. Sheamus.

I love the Dom World Title shot. At some point in time, Dom is going to be in the Final 3 at the Rumble to a gigantic pop or he’s going to get the β€œtry to run the Gauntlet but just come up short” Kofi type of push. I always want to boo him since he’s such a great sleazy heel but he’s also a really friggin’ great professional wrestler.

Β He’s just so good at what he does β€” the right type of panic whenever Rhea gets his hands on him, etc.Β

I am not sure the purpose of Carlito saying that he needs to learn Chinese after Io and Kairi was finished talking but I am sure it isn't good.Β  At best you can just say that Carlito is stupid

Been getting the same feeling. I was wondering what the women's War Games would be because nothing was really set up, but it feels like its slowly taking shape with all of the interactions.Β

I can't see a women's war games match coming together unless it's Rhea vs Liv? But Rhea spent the last 2.5 years being a heel and taking women out (granted redemption in WWE can happen a glacial or lightning pace depending on their needs) not sure she can really get enough to support her.

You could root in the Smackdown side of things, you have Nia/Tiffany on the heel side and Naomi, Bayley, Bianca, and Jade on the face side.

If we're sticking to Raw, My best guess is

Rhea + Sky Pirates + Dakota if she's healthy + ... Zelina or Lyra?

Liv + Raquel + (PFC, or Lash + Jakara + plus 1/3 of PFC)

Β

Smackdown will probably have Bianca and Jade defending against Chelsea and Piper, because leaving Chelsea off the card in Vancouver would be moronic. Unsure about where that leaves Tiffy/Nia and Bayley/Naomi.
