As I've said before, don't take the home game away... but lock the doors and play the game without any fans. Only people allowed in are the teams, media and necessary venue personnel. No cheerleaders, no mascot, no nothing.

EDIT: Also, limit the scoreboards to pertinent info like actual scores and time remaining - no "MAKE SOME NOIIIZZE" razzmatazz.

No way. Take away the home game. And make them reimburse everyone for lost income from the game not happening. Make it really, really hurt.

Tampering for Tyler Buchner lol

And now rumors are linking him with Auburn.

Which... Well, if the tampering is true and then he winds up at Auburn anyway, and then... Well, there's potential for high comedy.

I got news for y'all...Tyler Buchner ain't that good. He looked like hot shit coming into college and then proceeded to look average as fuck getting out played by total fucking duds.

EDIT: It's not like this was Jimmy Clausen 2.0 or something, but there was so much hype for Buchner and nothing he did matched that level of hype. But who knows, Alabama is the best system in the country.

The inaugural first-round games of a 12-team College Football Playoff will feature one game on Friday, Dec. 20, 2024 and three games on Dec. 21, 2024, CFP executive director Bill Hancock said on Thursday following the conclusion of CFP spring meetings.

The CFP is also zeroing in on confirming midweek games for the 2024 quarterfinals, with three games on Jan. 1, 2024, and the fourth quarterfinal game either on New Year's Eve or Jan. 2, 2024 to avoid competing against the NFL Wildcard weekend.

----------

The first-round games will be held at either the home field of the higher-seeded team or at another site designated by the higher-seeded institution. (No. 12 at No. 5, No. 11 at No. 6, No. 10 at No. 7, and No. 9 at No. 8.).

-----------

For the 2024 and 2025 seasons, the four quarterfinal games and two playoff semifinal games will be played in bowls on a rotating basis. The 2024 quarterfinals will take place in the Fiesta Bowl, Peach Bowl, Rose Bowl and Sugar Bowl, while the Cotton Bowl and Orange Bowl will host the Playoff Semifinals. The 2025 quarterfinals will take place in the Cotton Bowl, Orange Bowl, Rose Bowl and Sugar Bowl, while the Fiesta Bowl and Peach Bowl will host the playoff semifinals.

The national championship games will be played January 20, 2025, in Atlanta, and January 19, 2026, in Miami. The CFP's management committee continued to discuss lingering issues like the media rights agreement, campus hotels for the first-round games, and how the expanded playoff will coexist with December commencement and exams.

They are also still debating start the season during Week 0 but even if that happens - the earliest that change would take place is 2026

It's absolutely insane that they top four teams won't get to host a game. Keep the Natty in a neutral sight, and maybe the semis, but the quarterfinals damn sure should be on campus as well.

(I also think because of the weird way the seeding works where you have to win your conference to get a top four seed, they should reseed after the first round. Otherwise you're going to end up with things like the number two seed getting the 7th seed that was actually ranked 4th or 5th while a lower seed gets an easier path to the semis.)

This is the decision that was reached

Payton Thorne from MSU has landed at Auburn. He played really in 2021, but regressed a fair amount last year. Mostly a major decline in touchdown passes (possibly helped by not having Kenneth Walker III forcing defenses up into the box.)

He's got talent, and even his down year last wasn't a disaster. He could prove interesting on the plains.

The knock on him when the tealeaves had him going to Auburn was last season and defenses no longer had to factor in Kenneth Walker, so his field vision and decision making declined because fewer open 1 on 1s.

Auburn's backfield should be a strength this year, especially with Jarquez Hunter officially elevating up to RB1. I think we can get some production there. Floor for this season should be 7-5/8-4.

So it seems like the ACC is bending over backwards to appease Clemson and Florida State in terms of revenue distribution because they are worried they will leave for the SEC.  Losing them would make the ACC about as relevant as a PAC 12 or PAC whatever they are now.    Which is interesting because apparently the SEC wants nothing to do with Florida State.   At least the current version of Florida State.

Welp, the Schemy Schembechler run as assistant director of recruiting at Michigan ended at three (3) days.

Apparently Bo's son had a habit of liking tweets that claimed slavery and/or Jim Crow laws were good for black people because it made them tougher or some other racist bullshit.

Nearly three months before the season kicks off and those TV deals begin, the Big Ten does not have completed longform contracts, which include the fine print details. Instead, Petitti is engaged in significant "horse trading," according to multiple sources, to get the NBC primetime deal finished and figure out what the network calls "outstanding issues" in order to uphold as much value as possible.

"These deals aren't done, and they aren't what they were represented to be from the standpoint of the NBC deal and the availability of all members to participate in November games in primetime," said an industry source.

Interviews with nearly a dozen sources in and around the Big Ten and the college sports industry paint a picture of Petitti sprinting to navigate details left unresolved from his predecessor.

As a result, there's a trail of unhappy athletic directors seeing money disappearing from their bottom line, frustrated television executives and big-name coaches irked about the lack of transparency in details that weren't communicated to them.

I'm gonna be so sad when this ends up being as shitty as modern Madden games.

It's probably going to follow the model of the past iteration of utilizing the previous year Madden engine.
