RIPPA
I am sure I will eventually see another thread for this and have to merge them but I did look. https://www.njpw1972.com/la325/
RIPPA
Now in all of this I have always been "NJ running the US is cool I am glad people get to see it." Today is the first time I said "Stupid West Coast"

Archibald
This is a bit of fanfiction I guess, but what would people think if Rey would beat Liger and announce that he wants to enter BotSJ?
Jiji
Goodness gracious, the Starrcade '96 match had some neat spots but was a mess of a match. Even if it were completely hobbled swollen Mysterio (and he's moving significantly better than he was a few years ago) and broken down 53-year-old Liger, I am almost positive they'll have a better match than they did when they were almost in their physical primes. Jiji
They generally keep the matches ~10-15 minutes for the tournament and a lot of them are on the smaller house show size, so it's not like he'd have to go 100% in every match. I think he could but this is probably a one off before he signs with Vince then regrets it 2 months later.

Well sometimes less is more and I think that Liger has really perfected that approach in his recent years.
Web Conn
Here's the Starrcade match for anyone who has never seen it or hasn't seen it in a long time. Oyaji is correct the match is rough in parts.
John E. Dynamite
Still not as bad as Liger's chemistry with Ricky "Richard" Morton in that one Battlebowl.
Phantom Lord
Did Rey say this would be their first match ever in the video or did I just mishear him cause I don't remember that Starrcade match. I wish they would come east and do a show. They could probably easily sell out The Theater at Madison Square Garden if they're getting almost 5,000 in Long Beach. I think they might be able to do bigger than that, if they stick to very few US shows.
Curt McGirt
Liger did not have good luck in WCW. Those Pillman matches, for example, do not age well at all.

odessasteps
All I know is what a huge deal it was for us to see Liger in person when he did that Xmas house show loop vs Pillman.
Ace
Was still a big deal last year.

Which matches are you watching, that Superbrawl II match is still amazing and might still be the best match on the show. Now, if you want to talk his tag matches with Pillman in the NWA Tag Tourny...
Brian Fowler
Or the opener from the first Nitro... That one was disappointing. Is The Omni match floating around online anywhere?
Ramo2653
The few squashes he had on WCWSN or Worldwide were always fun. But the "big" matches were never that great as far as I can remember.

Curt McGirt
Whatever has been on WWE DVD (pretty sure the Nitro and Superbrawl matches) that I've seen were not up to snuff and pretty botchy. Both guys were amped but the results were less than stellar.
Brian Fowler
The Nitro match is pretty bad. Although Pillman was in the middle of really changing his style and Liger was just coming back from like a year off after breaking his ankle, so it's pretty understandable. I haven't watched the SuperBrawl match in years, but I remember it being pretty good to great overall.
TheVileOne
Liger/Pillman from SuperBrawl II is one of my favorite matches of all time. Don't recall a lot of botches in there.
