BurningBeard
Like a crazy Elvira or Bride of Frankenstein style shtick. I'd have totally been down with that! On an unrelated note... 1
quackhell
All the Sherri Martel talk reminded me that I saw her and Debbie Combs in a Dog Collar Match in IWA Mid-south in 97. They tore the house down and just beat the every loving hell out of each other pretty much stealing the show. That may be faint praise considering it was Ian's little garbage dog and pony show, but man that chaos was fun to see live. Sherri was the best.
Curt McGirt
I really really really want to see that match.
Captain Kronos
Quote Debbie Combs, Sensational Sherri, and Luna Vachon [March 14th, 1997] An incredible photo of three professional wrestling legends. This photo was taken backstage at the IWA Mid-South Eddie Gilbert Tribute Show. Debbie Combs is the daughter of women’s wrestling pioneer Cora Combs, and wrestled Luna Vachon on the night of this event. Sensational Sherri would feud with Combs later in the year within IWA Mid-South over the NWA Women’s Championship, in matches with stipulations such as Falls Count Anywhere and Dog Collar Matches! I love Sherri's look here.

I think about that fact less frequently than I probably ought: That this art to which I have given so much attention and money over the years is an art that kills. Heck, I'm going to tweet WWE Network and see if they can get a Sherri collection, there's a lot of goodness they can add. Of coarse she could make it work with anybody, she was such a team player and all about getting her guys over
Rev Ray
I seem to remember Punk and Cabana talking about meeting Sherri and at some point when Jamie Dundee was booking talent for Springer, there was talk they were supposed to do something where Sherri was supposed to be one of their moms and was dating their friend.

Captain Kronos
The kids on their first Smackdown - Feb 3, 2000. I cropped off Benoit cuz fuck that guy. You can't quite tell from this angle, but when they're all in a group Foley comes across as bigger than all of them.
Ace
Foley is bigger than all of them. None of the Radicalz were over 5'8".
(BP)
Foley's deceptively tall. About average by conventional wrestling standards, but way bigger than he comes across. It's probably his hunched wild man stagger he did for most of his career compounded by the litany of injuries.

Most WWE wrestlers (non-indies guys) are a lot bigger than most civilians. Think about Roddy in THEY LIVE or HHH in BLADE 3. They seem enormous.
Ace
Foley's around 6'4". The guys who are deceptively tall are the Hardys.
Rev Ray
keep in mind, WWE is the company that can put together a stable where someone like Luther Reigns in the shortest and lightest guy in it.

mattdangerously
Not me. I'd already seen Beetlejuice by the time Taker debuted, so that fetish was long-established.

But a few years ago I got to stand near Mark Henry and Big Show. Really put things in perspective. I was taller than Henry, but holy shit dude was a fridge with legs. Captain Kronos
I have seen people talk about seeing Swagger in person and just being blown away by how ginormous he is. Last night I was watching a battle royal from early 1980 - in Houston, maybe. Andre was cartoonishly bigger than every worker in the ring. ETA: When we're talking about "deceptively" tall or big, we mean that they don't seem as big as they really are, right? Especially out in the normal world.
