The Natural
The 122-lb title unification bout between Scott Quigg vs. Carl Frampton has been finalized and announced for 2/27 at Manchester Arena. First I've heard 'bout this. Yay!
Serious Darius Bagfelt
Should be a fun fight. In other news Rigondeux is looking like he might have to fight for chump change in Ottawa

Serious Darius Bagfelt
Andre Ward is off the Canelo-Cotto card due to a bum knee. So I guess that means another 6 months off then a meaningless tune up then he will have a falling out with Roc Sports and that will be another year or so off. I guess Ward vs Kovalev will happen in 2020 or so
RandomAct
So Canelo p much confirms he wants no part of GGG. HBO talking about fighting Bradley instead.
Elsalvajeloco
Golovkin not being a real big PPV draw and not being a part of Golden Boy or (more importantly) Top Rank makes him that much more easier to freeze out. Got to love boxing politics. That's pretty funny considering how cordial Top Rank was with Loeffler when Golovkin first arrived on the network. Things have changed now that there are so few stars left in boxing, especially on the eve of another mega star retiring.
RandomAct
Man, I would venture to say that Bradley is less of a draw than Golovkin at this point. That house looked poor. But you're right, it's more the politics of it all than anything else.
Elsalvajeloco
Man, I would venture to say that Bradley is less of a draw than Golovkin at this point. That house looked poor. But you're right, it's more the politics of it all than anything else. But that's the thing. You don't get all the comforts that a network like HBO provides unless you are part of the good ole boy network. You might get talked up like the greatest thing since sliced bread, but you're not going to get all the opportunities. Someone who draws half house is good as long as they bow down to Arum or HBO. Arum and company already moved out Al Haymon, and that was with the biggest draw in boxing in his stable. Lou DiBella had Sergio Martinez and that was it. Kathy Duva only has Kovalev. Pellulo only has Provodnikov. Loeffler only has Golovkin and that's it really since Wladimir only fights in the states once in a blue moon. The days of a promoter only having one star fighter to promote went out with the last days of John Jackson's Forum Boxing with Marco Antonio Barrera. You see how well SMS worked when 50 Cent tried to go it alone. Throne Boxing will go the same way once Cotto calls it a career. You got to be part of that collective (you see Oscar trying to be in Arum's good graces all the time), or it's sayonara.
Elsalvajeloco
Didn't see it yet, but RIP Bob Foster. He was probably the hardest hitter in the history of the light heavyweight division. If you never saw any of his fights, this would be a good time as any to track them down.

Mistah Na1m4rk
All my life I've wondered what it would look like if Herman Munster fought a Golem. Well, it was pretty much what you'd expect.
Elsalvajeloco
That was the 2 girls, 1 cup of heavyweight title bouts. And it ended with a new heavyweight champion.

Mister TV
The post fight was amazing! Fury dropped more J-Bombs than a Baptist preacher and sang I Don't Want to Miss a Thing!
Cobra Commander
hopefully Compubox didn't go into a screen saver due to inactivity during that fight. At least the judges didn't screw Fury.

Serious Darius Bagfelt
Shame there is an immediate rematch clause. Fury could have a few fun fights out there. PBC put another yawner of a card on NBC but at least from what I saw DeGale and Bute brought it last night
Hail Sabin
Yeah the fight sucked but the Fury post fight was glorious and the only saving grace of recording the afternoon live version. I recorded the replay for the Canelo vs. Cotto replay but haven't watched it yet will watch in the early morning.

Awesome back-and-forth stuff from bell to bell whereas you can legitimately count the punches every round (thrown and landed) in Klitschko-Fury. Serious Darius Bagfelt
Yeah Klitschko-Fury is battling it out with the one two punch of Tony Tubbs-Greg Page and Tony-Tubbs-Tim Witherspoon of heavyweight title snoozers
Death From Above
All the John Ruiz fights I watched were like that too. I remember watching a fight he threw 7 punches over 2 rounds and the commentators are like "he's winning". Heavyweight boxing is very, very strange. And not great.
