Dolfan in NYC Posted July 26, 2022 Posted July 26, 2022 And per The Athletic, the Lakers offered Russ, a 1 in '27, and two 2's to Indiana for Buddy Hield and Myles Turner. It's unclear if the Pacers laughed hysterically or just hung up the phone. 1

It's unclear if the Pacers laughed hysterically or just hung up the phone. Allegedly the deal broke down because the Lakers wouldn't throw in their 2029 pick as well. Which, on one hand, makes sense. LeBron is going to be retired by then, Davis might be, who knows what the Lakers will look like, that could be a very valuable and needed pick. On the other, you have an aging but still great LeBron James and a potentially still good if he stays healthy Anthony Davis. This is a time to maximize your window and try to get banner #18 before Boston does.
Brian Fowler Posted July 28, 2022 Author Posted July 28, 2022 So it's looking possible that the NBA will let players start jumping straight from high school again as soon as 2025. That sound you hear is every GM who has traded away a 2025 first rounder wailing in anguish about possibly missing out on a double class. 1
Dolfan in NYC Posted July 28, 2022 Posted July 28, 2022 Reportedly Draymond will demand a max contract extension from GS. (This would roughly be 5/141) Of note... Draymond is 37.

Contentious C Posted July 28, 2022 Posted July 28, 2022 Yeah, he would be 37 when the contract expires.
Lawful Metal Posted July 28, 2022 Posted July 28, 2022 LOL if the Dubs fuck it all up by paying Draymond. LOL if the Dubs fuck it all by not paying Draymond. LOL.
Lawful Metal Posted July 29, 2022 Posted July 29, 2022 So what would Dwight Howard's WWE name be? I'm going with Katana Chance 1
Brian Fowler Posted July 30, 2022 Author Posted July 30, 2022 The NBA is officially investigating the Sixers for possible tampering shenanigans with regards to Tucker, House, and Harden. Possibly because Woj broke the Tucker signing, with years and dollars, literally one minute into the legal period, the House deal five minutes later, and Harden having possibly already agreed to his new cheaper deal in order to fit two of his former Rockets teammates in under the cap before he had even opted out.

Dolfan in NYC Posted July 31, 2022 Posted July 31, 2022 Bill Russell, the actual GOAT, has died. He was 88. 6
KidNatural Posted July 31, 2022 Posted July 31, 2022 What a life, what a legacy. Plus he loved to flip off Charles Barkley. 1
hammerva Posted July 31, 2022 Posted July 31, 2022 If the decision about who is the best was based on championships then Russell is the only one better than Jordan and he is almost DOUBLE it. Also the only man in basketball college or pro who can control Wilt.
Brian Fowler Posted July 31, 2022 Author Posted July 31, 2022 Two high school state championships Two college national titles Eleven NBA championships. He might not be the best player ever, but he's unquestionably the best winner of all-time And a hell of a person and activist off the court. 2
odessasteps Posted July 31, 2022 Posted July 31, 2022 And probably the best player on all those teams. No ride a long rings.
ohtani's jacket Posted July 31, 2022 Posted July 31, 2022 Man, I am gutted. I didn't think it would hit me this hard.
Dolfan in NYC Posted August 1, 2022 Posted August 1, 2022 Amazing stat. Russell is only the 5th NBA MVP to die. (Moses, Wilt, Kobe, and Unseld are the others)

Brian Fowler Posted August 1, 2022 Author Posted August 1, 2022 Similar to how Russell never won finals MVP (or DPOY though that wasn't until years after he retired)
