Well, if Hero put himself over an opponent, his opponent would likely suffocate.

That joke doesn't work.
Eh, I'd cry if you were my audience.

Did know you have to pin your opponents head in a wrestling match.

Ever had a big fat person lay on you? I said "suffocate," rover, not "smother."

Hero's gotten a little chunky but I thought Murdoch and Gordy were the patron saints of this site? Did Kevin Dunn and Vince McMahon take over DVDVR? Are we now pushing Rene Dupree for the HOF?

As if Rene Dupree didn't have fans here.

Blah blah punches blah blah missle dropkicks blah blah Meltzer? blah Memphis.

Seleziya Sparx also got banned in the USA after getting caught twice trying to sneak (makes finger motions) across the border.

I can't believe that PWG has only had one DQ what with The Young Bucks feuding with a ref forever.

New Japan is the second biggest wrestling company in the world and the IWGP Heavyweight Championship is the fanciest belt in all of pro wrestling.  Stylish Alan Jones isn't as dumb as he looks and probably knows that the guy with the fanciest belt not go around losing to just anybody.  And NJPW would pay for his airport parking but why would he leave his car at the airport for weeks when his wife could just drop him off and pick him up?  Or Claire Lynch since I heard she was acting in Atlanta now.

It would be unbecoming for the champion of NJPW to get dropped off at the airport in his Honda Odyssey minivan by his wife like a kid getting dropped off for a soccer game.

Getting dropped off at the Atlanta airport is sure more convenient than parking at the Atlanta airport. That place is a nightmare.

The BOLA that ended with Hero/KI had a DQ in the semifinals, right? Is that the one we're talking about? If that's the only DQ in PWG history that's pretty silly, and that sounds like more of the issue. DQs are perfectly fine if they fit into the context of a feud and help further a storyline. By only giving your fans clean finishes you're backing yourself into a corner.

I know 2010 BOLA had the Young Bucks against each other and they attacked the ref for a double DQ but generally PWG is minimal on storylines. Even when they had their long stable story with Cole's title reign they didnt really have clean finishes, usually interference before the fall

I miss the days when PWG used to do a lot of angles/feuds (through 2006 or so).  That was also the time period when their core roster was SoCal guys who didn't work outside a lot the region (Super Dragon, Ryan, Topgun Talwar, Bosh, etc.).  The company has had a lot of good years since but I still feel like they lost something when they started booking mostly ROH guys and turning every show into "indy dream match"

That's PWG entire appeal. Would be immensely silly to deviate from that.

They book everyone that's hot and buzzing at the moment. Not just ROH but also Gabe guys to make matchups possible that aren't possible otherwise due to contracts and other animosities from 5 years ago.

I wonder if the Elgin thing would've been handled differently if he lost to a ROH guy like Cedric Alexander and not EVOLVE guy Trevor Lee.

Pretty much this. Since Gabe left ROH and now that Evolve/ROH cant share talent PWG is the only "name" place where these matches can happen. There have been some fun stories/feuds over the last couple years like Bucks feuding with ref Knox but it's much harder when they run like 10 shows a year now

This is really cool news for me. I attend UNLV and the Orleans isnt too far from Campas. Now this isnt the golden age of ROH but it's still gonna be cool to see ROH live.

Yeah, great episode. AJ is so great. The tag main was really good, too. I was initially cold on the Bucks but their stuff is growing up on me. I like how they've turned being superfluous flippy  guys who overuse superkicks into being a part of their characters. Like, their style makes perfect sense if you understand they are egotistical Hardy-clones who are trying to be overtly flashy. It's why naming a move the "Meltzer Driver" works perfectly. This is opposed to guys like Davey Richards or other dudes who are ostensibly serious wrestlers who do goofy shit as a part of their "wrestling performance"

I hope that makes sense.

The Bucks won me over when Nick Jackson did a double-handspring into a back rake at a St. Louis Anarchy show.

LOL they've been doing that forever.  Fucking hilarious spot.  It's better when the fans chant "holy shit" afterwards...or when it's no DQ and they use an actual rake.

That Kyle/AJ match looks awesome.  A battle of world champions, actually.  Did PWG demand Kyle not job?  :P
