odessasteps Posted July 6, 2021 Posted July 6, 2021 (edited) Finding Japanese versions of 60s and 70s Hanna Barbera cartoon themes is def weird and cool. Edited July 6, 2021 by odessasteps 1

Here's their cover of "Tragedy" which is actually really good - except they left out Barry Gibb's vocal "gunshot" sound that's so iconic from the original: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DKle2p9W5To I will say this - they absolutely *killed it* on the background vocals and choruses on the four Bee Gees songs. I'm a huge Bee Gees fan and they absolutely nailed the background stuff. Grohl himself is a little more hit & miss. Edited July 24, 2021 by Tabe 1
Ace Posted July 24, 2021 Posted July 24, 2021 Barry Gibb literally has one of the most iconic voices in the world. I'm honestly surprised at Grohl's range in this. 1
Curt McGirt Posted August 3, 2021 Posted August 3, 2021 There is absolutely nothing weird about Soundgarden covering Sabbath.
J.T. Posted August 4, 2021 Posted August 4, 2021 I know, but I think the other covers thread is too deep to resurrect.
odessasteps Posted August 4, 2021 Posted August 4, 2021 Yeah, I just put everything here now, good or bad.
punkenhead Posted August 10, 2021 Posted August 10, 2021 Apologies if this has already been posted. More of an awesome cover than a weird one, but still. 1
punkenhead Posted August 10, 2021 Posted August 10, 2021 While Danzig has had a few good cover tunes, this one is just too far out there for my palate.

Curt McGirt Posted August 11, 2021 Posted August 11, 2021 I don't really have a problem with Danzig doing Elvis, it's just that his voice is dusted compared to what it used to be. If he'd done that back in the '90s he wouldn't have to put any effects on himself at all. It's certainly better than the other "Misfits" doing lounge versions with the Nutley Brass, at least. And @J.T. no that doesn't count. It's a guy singing over an instrumental being blasted through the PA. There is nothing different about that at all. I at least expected break beats over it or something.

Travis Sheldon Posted August 13, 2021 Posted August 13, 2021 (edited) Ace of Spades on church bells. (If anyone can tell me how to insert a video into the post, it would be greatly appreciated. I try to "insert link" and "embed code" and neither works for me. I am not an idiot... Much.) I figured it out!!! Edited August 13, 2021 by Travis Sheldon 1
Curt McGirt Posted August 16, 2021 Posted August 16, 2021 Holy shit that Dave Mustaine impersonation! Uncanny. Not a great Phil Anselmo, but everything else is spot on.

odessasteps Posted October 30, 2021 Posted October 30, 2021 Maybe my favorite song from the Saturday morning cover album
