CSC
Electric Boogaloo is up on Netflix now, for anyone who was dissuaded by it only being on YouTube before.

CSC
Thank God. That USC 30 for 30 doc was getting way too close to the top of my To Watch list and I'm still not prepared to be as depressed as that's going to make me.

Curt McGirt
This just made me grin like a jackal Also, apparently there's another new one involving a director talking about his films with other directors that doesn't have a trailer out yet. It's called De Palma. That's not a joke, and honestly I want to see it even more than this.
Rev Ray
The How Did This Get Made? crew (mainly Paul) really put over the Electric Boogaloo movie and it's a fun watch. I seem to recall I think Eli Roth talking about the Lemon Pop-sickle movie format of Cool Guy, Fat Guy, Nerd when he was we promoting the release of Green Inferno on Talk is Jericho. RIPPA
God - Electric Boogaloo is so fucking good. I mean it is basically a road map of my journey through puberty God - I forgot how big of a crush I had on Lucinda Dickey

Tabe
A couple of super, super-great documentaries that are now available on Netflix streaming: I highly recommend both of them.

I seem to recall I think Eli Roth talking about the Lemon Pop-sickle movie format of Cool Guy, Fat Guy, Nerd when he was we promoting the release of Green Inferno on Talk is Jericho.Watched this over the last couple of nights and...holy cow. What a FUN movie. I knew almost nothing about Cannon Films going into it. So much craziness packed into the story of these guys. I found myself marveled by the...just complete disregard for quality that they showed for most of their movies. And the craziness of combining unrelated genres. And the creation of terrible sequels (Death Wishes 2-5, Texas Chainsaw Massacre 2, Superman 4, etc). Anyway, if you like movies at all, and can handle a LOT of nudity in the first half of the documentary, this is a must-watch. GREAT stuff. 9/10.
Cliff Hanger
I love that they actually got Marina Sirtis to talk about The Wicked Lady, which I remember seeing turn up as a bootleg for sale at cons for years. Edit: autocowrecked
Curt McGirt
Hey now, Texas Chainsaw 2 is one of the best movies ever IMO (and Death Wish 3, in a... different... way)
stro
Omit The Logic is pretty great. A 2013 doc on Richard Pryor. It's great if you're a fan of his or stand up in general. It certainly pulls no punches on the man and his personal life.
Curt McGirt
Yeah, that one was brutal. I think Richard would have approved. The fact that they had to reshoot the entire Sunset Strip film was shocking to me, among many other things.
Chaos
I completely missed Best of Enemies being on Netflix. I've heard that's a fascinating documentary. I've heard the book on which it's based is a really good read as well. I'll give that a viewing over the weekend.
Tabe
It's pretty good but I wouldn't call it great. The makers want to attach all this historical impact to their debates that I just don't think exists.
Niners Fan in CT
I'm nearly all the way through Making a Murderer. We watched like 5 hours straight the other night. It's definitely one of the most interesting crime stories I've ever seen. Some of it is so crazy you'd roll your eyes if it was a Hollywood script. I mean it's really crazy. If you haven't seen it don't click the spoiler: I don't see how any fucking jury ever could have convicted him based on the shit that went on with that sheriff department. I think the justice system is broken beyond repair not only because district attorneys and police in general cannot be trusted but also because I don't think there are enough intelligent people in the country who can serve on a jury Also, I worked in special education some and the way these officers and judges are talking to this kid is fucking disgusting. It is OBVIOUS he has a disability.
Curt McGirt
I got Electric Boogaloo out of the clear blue sky for Xmas this year and it was awesome. My only complaint is (of course) with them shitting on Chainsaw 2 and Death Wish 3. If you can pick that up at Walmart for five bucks DO IT. I was afraid I'd never see it unless I could find it on Dailymotion or at a friend's house on Netflix or something. Maybe the best thing about the film is the end where they say both Golan and Globus were contacted to show up in the film, and they were denied, only to find out they had started their own documentary about Cannon immediately. That and Bo Derek still being hot in her '60s
stro
If people think Deathwish 3 is a great bad movie, they really need to see Deathwish 5.
sydneybrown
Listen to Me Marlon is a pretty amazing documentary. It's a nearly two hour movie, and I'd say 3/4 of it are strictly personal recordings never heard until now. Most fascinating are the playing back of hypnosis tapes Brando created for himself. That and the 3D digital images he had made of himself back in the 90s for preservation. It definitely has a "What the fuck am I watching?" vibe to it. Tabe
https://youtu.be/qxgbdYaR_KQ This one's probably going to make me mad. Whatever you're watching, stop. Watch this instead. This is a devastating indictment and portrayal of the justice system. Absolutely riveting TV that will infuriate you to no end. Watch one cop after another lie and... nothing comes of it. Words are failing me right now. I mean... wow. You really, truly gotta see this.
