The Unholy Dragon
RIP Darwyn Cooke. Just an incredible talent taken way too soon. This sucks.
mattdangerously
He'd only been working in comics for 16 years. Too goddamn brief. Everything he did was top-notch, though, from Batman: Ego to New Frontier to the Parker adaptations, and everything in between. This whole year can kiss my ass. Brian Fowler
BTW, last week Amazon and Comixology started a Cooke sale of his IDW and DC work. Each issue of New Frontier for 1.99, Superman Confidential for .99 each issue he and Sale did together, done various other stuff on the cheap. The timing ended up a bit morbid, but no better way to mourn him than to celebrate his work. Also, reading his issue of Solo tonight wrecked me. Johnny Sorrow
I just bought the hardcover New Frontier book three months ago, and fell in love with it all over again. RIP

Didn't he get his start doing storyboards or character designs, etc... for the Batman Beyond cartoon?
odessasteps
He famously designed the Batman Beyond titles on a Mac in his spare bedroom.
Brian Fowler
He did storyboards for Batman/Superman Adventures, and was a director on the Men in Black cartoon as well.
The Unholy Dragon
Man. Reread the New Frontier Special they put out to coincide with the movie adaptation...screw DKR, *that* is my favourite Batman/Superman throwdown.

Cliff Hanger
Cooke did the (EDIT: updated) character designs, pretty sure that was his only contribution from the beginning.

Yes, but he didn't start drawing comics with any sort of regularity until Batman Ego in 2000.

Matt D
New ad campaign for this. The Tag line is right. But I've been burned for what, fifteen years straight?
Brian Fowler
I thought the peel logo worked really well in movies, animation, TV, etc when it actually peeled and such. But as a static image it was terrible.

twiztor
i really liked the infinite crisis logo they debuted in 2005. obviously the bullet logo was classic before i was born so that was ok too. the "peel" logo i never hated, but i didn't love either. this new logo reminds me of something that could be put on a ring, like a Green Lantern ring. it would look good on a tshirt too, so i think they've found a good one. the font on the "D" looks familiar, does anyone know which title the font was used from?

Cliff Hanger
Was JUST on my way to post about that. Looks like a new origin for Space Ghost as well as Birdman (who never really had one before IIRC).

dogwelder
So Bleeding Cool posted some spoilers for Rebirth #1 and, if they're true, I'm not sure what to think about Spoiler Dr. Manhattan creating Nu52 and Watchman being part of the DCU now.
