Burgundy LaRue
All the Boys Love Mandy Lane is far from perfect, but I appreciate the try for something different. And it has some good qualites to it. And the movie only cost $750,000 to produce--for that amount, the product is decent.
The Natural
Watched Star Trek Into Darkness last night and like its predecessor, I also liked this one. Not sure which one I preferred. Have to think about that.
TimLivingston
The problem for a lot of people was that Into Darkness played like a homage to Star Trek movies of old instead of a new direction like the first movie did. I'm fine with him paying tribute in a sense. It's not as good as the first one, but I enjoyed it well enough. It's just a bad combination of everyone's hard-on for Benedict Cumberbatch along with the character he portrayed. It was like nobody wanted to see any of it. Well that and it was the second remake of a certain movie; but it is what it is, not bad though.

Niners Fan in CT
I guess there's no separate thread for it. I saw The Wolf of Wall Street. It's presented very much like Goodfellas, Casino, etc.. I loved it. It does not feel like 3 hours. I've heard complaints about there being too many montages and that Scorsese really beats you over the head with the hookers and drug use but I was fine with all of it. It's a fun ride. Leo was great...Leo is always great but Jonah Hill was also tremendous. Every time he wasn't on screen I was wishing him back. Great performance. Anne Hathaway nearly drowned while swimming on the beach and the nearby photographers reaction was to...eh, take several pics of her while she was visibly struggling and screaming and not bother to assist in any way whatsoever. Dear God, these people are scumbags. So much so they've got me feeling bad for Anne Hathaway. And I didn't think that was even possible. Why pass up a chance to perform CPR on her? #prurientthoughts
Tabe
You say that like there was a fourth Indiana Jones movie. There hasn't been an Indy movie since Last Crusade and you'll never convince me otherwise.

I comfort myself by thinking that Alien 3 and Alien Resurrection were both just bizarre nightmares Ripley had in hypersleep after Aliens.
Brian Fowler
Alien3 isn't a bad movie. Hell, at times it borders on being a good movie. It just has the misfortune of following Alien and Aliens, which is kind of like having a solid local band close a show opened by The Beatles that had The Rolling Stones play the second slot.

Curt McGirt
Alien 3 is a good movie. It's the audience that sucks.
Reed
Alien 3 is WAY too bleak, empty and depressing. And these are Alien movies. They aren't exactly Disney in the first place. Hey, remember those characters you spent the first two movies rooting for? Yeah, they're dead now. Fourth one isn't good, either, but there's at least a sense of fun about the whole thing.
HumanChessgame
I wonder what Alien 3 would have ended up being like had the production and filming not been such a colossal clusterfuck. I don't think Resurrection is a bad movie, just a lot different in tone than the others. It's genuinely unsettling, especially the final act, but also has that almost campy, surreal air to it that Delicatessen and City of Lost Children had. Going back and watching it the oddball ensemble character bunch of the crew also comes off like a real beta test of Firefly.

BrianS81177
I liked Crystal Skull too. But I get why some people didn't. On an unrelated note, I had this bad dream once that there was another Rocky movie released between Rocky 4 and Rocky Balboa. It was this god awful affair that had something to do with Rocky being broke and training some dude and there was this terrible Don King impersonator. Still makes me shudder to this day. Thankfully it was just a dream and never actually happened....
