@bobholly138 Grapplevision (the makers of the first video) list some great videos btw. Rick messed with the wrong one that day. Vordell has MMA experience and Rick wasn’t ready for someone to fight back.

Also I found this match which seems like somebody was booking with this board in mind

I've always been bummed that the rumored mass beatdown of Rick Steiner by a bunch of WCW workers he abused on the last Thunder or Nitro or whatever didn't end up happening, but Vordell giving Rick Steiner that work is a pretty good consolation prize.

On a side note, I've always enjoyed the random Vordell Walker matches from the aughts that I've come across.

Ahh the Damien Wayne match. That is my town and a buddy's footage. I got the same match up from my footage somewhere. In that footage the guy walking around filming in a Ultimo Guerrero mask is me. Back before I had to wear glasses each show I would mask up.

 

Had contacted Damien a month before the show to interview him at the show.

He shows up i go intro my self

Then before the interview I mentioned I had first heard of him thru DVDVR. And Damien starts naming various posters.

Good dude.

One day I will make a playlist of the Vordell matches I have filmed. 

He is down to working maybe  10 times a year now. But stays busy as a EMT down in the HOUMA LA area.

Wish there was footage of him vs Keith Lee from a BIW show in LA years back.

an idea for an over-meta WWE gimmick: a guy who just refuses to confine himself to one brand and can show up anywhere because he's a rebel

that idea might show up anybody else trying to be rebellious on a wrestling show

Man, I really thought Vordell was about to breakout in 05, he was getting booked by ROH here there and just seemed to be on the cusp of breaking out of the indies. Then, just... nothing... well not nothing but it just seemed he disappeared to me

Thank you for mentioning this. I thought it might just be me. I just can't help it. Every time I see the words, Hurricane Helms pops up in my head first.

The rumor and I have never asked Vordell about this is there was/is heat between Vordell and Samoa Joe. Which is why Walker's ROH run was so short. And I dont think he ever did much in TNA.

Pretty much after ROH he just worked the southern indies. 

Years back when Vordell was feuding with Steve Anthony in ECW,Elite Championship Wrestling out of HOUMA LA,Steve nicknamed Vordell Turtlehead. So someone,later on found out  it was Xtian Blake,took a picture of Vordell made him green and added  the Ninja turtle belt and bandana. 

Steve used this to taunt Vordell at a show like 10 years ago.

Skip ahead to 2022 and the poster is found in the ring trailer for BIW. I get it and now have had Steve,Vordell and Xtian sign it.

I've been peppering in "WHASSUP WIT DAT?" like the old Jackie Martling inappropriate laugh drop on Howard to cope. You are my people.

Not every Vordell match I have filmed and got online but 11 of them. Going  back to 2013ish. Newest is from last year.

 

Small favor if anyone can. Channel is at 543 subs. Trying to hit 550 before end of the year. Never monetized the channel. Pretty much film and upload so there is an archive of the area.

Saw how 14 years ago there was either no one filming. Or the fed filmed and never released footage. So asked and got permission to film and upload. Now right at 15 years later been to 4 states,MS/AL/LA/TX,like 50+ towns and 50+ feds.

This month is the first one in a long time that I haven't spent most Saturdays in a car traveling 3 to 4 hours to a show. Then heading back home after it.

So ya if you aint subbed to DIY Mississippi filmworks please do.

And yea the name is a mouthful. IT's a tribute to a buddy that died right before I started filming. Had had DIY M F !!! across his knuckles. So I wanted to use that in a way that most wouldn't catch it.

Subbed!  I’d plug my own YouTube channel but it’s just short GTA Online videos and local bullshit.  Somehow a short I shot while riding the Scrambler at the local fair got 500 hits.  Life is weird.

A couple months back I got an adapter to rip videos from VHS, so I could upload some of the stuff I was involved with. First video I uploaded was Hashinoto vs Corino vs Steele for the NWA title, and after 1500 views I got a copyright strike and banned from more uploads.

That is why I have never monetized. Entrance music triggers copyright claims. Cool whoever owns HOT STUFF gets money for old Steve Anthony Matches.

As for where to start.

For the olders stuff anything BIW is worth trying out. That is the top quality fed in LA/AR/MS

SWA if it is a Lukas Frost vs Alex Cruz match give it a watchh. They had a good feud going that died off cause Cruz wouldn't listen to the vet.

More current stuff,Nightmare Jeremiah has went from a heel that made kids piss their pants and have nightmares to being one of the most loved faces on the Mississippi Gulf Coast

Look for Nightmare vs Richard Holliday,any of the Nightmare vs RJW or Nightmare vs Wess Warren matches.

There is a Draven Lee vs Nightmare Jeremiah brawl from Bay St Louis that has a figure four applied on top the bar. Then Nightmare uses a plastic spork to reverse the hole.

I know there is at least one battle royale where the thumbnail is Nightmare and RJW fighting in a bathroom.

Oh any Mississippi Rumble. They are usually 2 parts. IT is AWA's Royale Rumble and they are usually fun.

 

Thx to all that subbed. It was posters here 20 years ago that got me wanting too film shows.

I got another channel that is just me talking dvds/blu rays/laserdsics/comics.

The most viewed vid on it is me on the back porch putting seed out for the birds. 9 or 10 k views,second most viewed,and this blew up the last 3 months,is from 12 years ago and is the DVD ,from Something Werid Video,of Goldilocks andd the Three Bares/Sinderella and the golden bra. Two Nudie cuties froom HG lewis and David Friedman.
