StuntmanCrowley Posted June 11 Posted June 11 I honestly love making a favorite wrestlers list because it really does vary(however the top 3 are concrete and unwavering) 1. Mick Foley 2. Terry Funk 3. New Jack *This one might raise some eyebrows, but New Jack was just, New Jack. Garbage wrestling will always be around, but something about New Jack and his garbage wrestling has always stuck with me. It doesn't hurt that the guy was genuinely an absolute unhinged fucking maniac and unpredictable. I also have a soft spot for him threatening to run me the fuck over with his car(his words) outside of the ECW Arena, and then walking up, laughing about it with me but adding "I would've run you over" before sauntering off* 4. Bruiser Brody 5. Roddy Piper 6. Bryan Danielson 7. Samoa Joe 8. The Great Muta 9. LuFisto 10. R-Truth. This changes almost daily outside of the top 3-5 tbh(probably 6 because Danielson will never leave it as well). On any given day, Dragon Kid, Ultimo Dragon, Mr Danger, Jun Kasai, Blitzkreig(short lived career but holy fuck was he impressive), Randy Savage, LOD, Steiners, Briscoes, etc. 3

The Natural Posted June 12 Posted June 12 WWF was on fire in 1999, WCW mostly was but in ring/most of their PPVs sucked with exception of WWF Backlash, WCW Spring Stampede and WWF No Mercy. ECW was the promotion to watch with ECW Guilty as Charged, ECW Living Dangerously, ECW Hardcore Heaven and ECW Anarchy Rulz.
StuntmanCrowley Posted June 12 Posted June 12 I think I remember reading that Blitzkreig is now(or was) a computer programmer? 2

I attended No Mercy 99 in Cleveland, and astonishingly, that's the last show I have attended from the company. I have never been to a WWE show. I hope that changes soon. 1
MoeCristyV.1.6 Posted June 12 Posted June 12 It's still the best ladder match WWE ever had. EVERY Spot works perfectly and the fans give multiple Standing Ovations.
NikoBaltimore Posted June 13 Posted June 13 I just found out tonight ZSJ/Orange is happening. I wanted this for about a year and posted as such so motherfucking fuck yeah, man! That shit is going to rule! 3

What would be a good new-ZSJ primer match for those of us still uninitiated? He's got a ton of recent NJPW TV title matches up on youtube worth checking out 1 1

I have strong opinions about former WWF/WCW/WWE Champion Terry Bollea which you should PM me about. But I wanted to express them here too because I can't help myself 1 3

Goldberg, Kevin Nash, The Young Bucks and SANADA dishonourable mentions. Edited June 16 by The Natural 1
zendragon Posted June 16 Posted June 16 I should have put the current IWGP belt in there somewhere as well 1

StuntmanCrowley Posted June 16 Posted June 16 (edited) A most hated top 10 would be an interesting way to go. I'd be really interested to see some posters here list on that topic. I'm not sure what 2-10 would be at the moment, but Goldberg will be my #1, then, now, always, lol. That dude was shit in the ring and by all accounts seems like a total jackass out of it. Then you have people proven of sexual assault (and note I say PROVEN), with Buck Zumhofe and Bob Sweetan being the lowest of the low for going after their own children. It'd get depressing real real quick. 2

Maybe we keep it to in-ring? Because i'd agree with you on that #1. 1
John E. Dynamite Posted June 16 Posted June 16 I struggle to think of many wrestlers I loathe more than Tatsuhito Takaiwa.

I find it very difficult to dislike someone just because I don't like their in-ring work. It's all very subjective and I find that there are people I didn't enjoy before that I'll enjoy later, so I give everyone a fair chance when I watch their stuff. Even if someone is retired or dead, I might see some random footage that blows me away and makes me rethink what my opinion was of that person. For example, I used to not like Sakura Hirota at all in the early-2000s, I thought she was a colossal waste of time. Then I found out, as I got older, that I was a stupid dork and she was actually a genius, I just wasn't giving her enough of a chance.

Yeah, Chris Benoit would be my #1. Before what he did, he was in my five favourite wrestlers of all time. I was a huge fan. My username here was The Crippler from September 2005-June 2007 I was so stoked winning a signed Chris Benoit picture, I framed it on my wall. I took it down afterwards and it's remained in a cardboard folder ever since. Still have it. Edited June 16 by The Natural

There's a special humidor with Vince's name on it ready to go, as well. Edited June 17 by Technico Support 1

I feel like the list of Japan's failed attempts at American sports entertainment from that era is long as hell, but Eccentric is probably the exception just cause the idea Sakura Hirota bossing around Chigusa Nagayo (with pigtails mind you) is too ridiculous not to enjoy. That and doing the The Rock's catchphrases for no reason.
Zimbra Posted June 17 Posted June 17 Least favorite has to be Rockin' Rebel, who was absolute dogshit in the ring and a murderer outside of it. 2
