JonnyLaw Posted June 1, 2024 Author Posted June 1, 2024 (edited) Giancarlo Esposito has joined the Brave New World reshoots in a “villainous role.” What are the odds he’s the new Kang/Kang replacement? Edited June 1, 2024 by JonnyLaw
Raziel Posted June 1, 2024 Posted June 1, 2024 When you need a villain in your prestige show/movie franchise... 2
JonnyLaw Posted June 2, 2024 Author Posted June 2, 2024 Some people are obviously speculating he’s Doom, which I could see except for the fact I don’t think they’d cast Pascal and Esposito as opponents in a second franchise.
odessasteps Posted June 2, 2024 Posted June 2, 2024 I hope he’s Immortus or Rama Tut and not Doom. I cling to the idea Doom will be European,in this era of more accurate geographical casting for people. 1
tbarrie Posted June 2, 2024 Posted June 2, 2024 He's more than fifteen years older than the guys playing Reed, and I'd say the difference is visible in their faces. So that would require some change to Doom's backstory if he's Doom. And yeah, Doom not being Eastern European would also be a significant change, and probably an unwelcome one to me. 2
odessasteps Posted June 2, 2024 Posted June 2, 2024 I saw a discussion online the other day about the use of CGI to de-age actors and how sometimes it’s great and sometimes it’s awful. I guess they could slightly de-age him to closer match Pascal. Or just never show him without the mask.
Casey Posted June 2, 2024 Posted June 2, 2024 The current rumor is that he’s playing Bushman. He said his role will extend to starring in a series, and all signs point to Moon Knight S2 if that’s the case. 1

COLETTI Posted June 3, 2024 Posted June 3, 2024 The wife and I just rewatched GoTG v3 for the first time since the theaters and I can say with all confidence that that trilogy is, overall, the best thing the MCU has ever produced. 2 1

Rare disagreement with you, my friend. I'd give that to Daredevil then the Captain America trilogy.
Casey Posted June 3, 2024 Posted June 3, 2024 I know it’s in the title, but, man - Civil War is really just an Avengers movie let’s be real. 1
Travis Sheldon Posted June 3, 2024 Posted June 3, 2024 Mads Mikkelsen should be Doom, but they already used him as Kaecilius in Doctor Strange. 2

Mads Mikkelsen is still my #1 pick for Doctor Doom even though he was Kaecilius in Doctor Strange. Either ignore it, retcon it as Doom or use variants/alternate timelines excuse. 1

odessasteps Posted June 3, 2024 Posted June 3, 2024 If they can recycle Chris Evans to play Cap, they can recycle just about anyone else. 1
Craig H Posted June 3, 2024 Posted June 3, 2024 I irrationally like the Venom movies, mainly for the banter between the symbiote and Eddie. It’s basically just good Ash and bad Ash for a whole movie. 2
Curt McGirt Posted June 4, 2024 Posted June 4, 2024 Gonna just throw a name out there for Doom... Spoiler Christoph Waltz 2

Kenneth Choi has too, but that doesn't count. He was Jim Morita (of the Howling Commandos) in Captain America 1, and then his grandson Principal Morita in Spider-Man Homecoming. 1
stuntmanc Posted June 4, 2024 Posted June 4, 2024 Nikolaj Coster-Waldeau was always a dark horse choice of mine for Doom. 2
AxB Posted June 4, 2024 Posted June 4, 2024 Jamie Lannister as Doom, alongside Oberyn Martell as Reed?
odessasteps Posted June 4, 2024 Posted June 4, 2024 That said. Charles Dance would be a great Doom. You can prob say that about a dozen people from GOT. 1

I brought my dark horse candidate up to my buddy and he said the same exact thing. For some reason, I didn't even put two and two together, but upon knowing that, I'm even more behind it
