Dolfan in NYC
Lisa Banes, who was known for her roles in Gone Girl, Cocktail, and The Orville has died at age 65. She was hit by a motorcycle while crossing the street in NYC 10 days ago. The driver of the motorcycle fled the scene.
colonial
Frank Bonner, arguably the worst dressed man on 70s TV, has died at 79 ... I always presumed growing up that Herb Tarlek's suits were Frankensteined together from whatever furniture store swatches the producers got a hand of.
J.T.
Herb Tarlek's exposition on 80's cultural warfare aka The Dungarees vs. The Suits that terrified the shit out of Les Nesman may have been one of the best written moments in television. Only someone with a good grasp of their character could pull that shit off. RIP Herb "Mr. Kickback" Tarlek.

Curt McGirt
We didn't even mention the fact that he directed "Nightmare at 50,000 Feet" from The Twilight Zone, three episodes of Tales from the Crypt, produced that show and the first two Tales movies, also produced The Lost Boys, X-Men, Any Given Sunday, Omen III... and the entire Free Willy series hahaha. I'm sure that was one of the smartest late-career business decisions anyone ever made. He also directed The Toy. Let's not even get into that... odessasteps
Ladyhawke is good. So is Radio Flyer. I could see you liking Ladyhawke if only for Rutger Hauer.

Control
RIP William Smith, best known (by me) for his starring role in Andy Sidaris's SEVEN.
J.T.
He played Tank Murphy in Any Which Way You Can, the sequel to the Clint Eastwood vehicle, Any Which Way But Loose, and of course there was.. Smith was a great character actor and that is a slowly dying artform. The man bore the gravitas of that scene like it was nothing. The best thing about that scene is that Smith came up with the dialogue himself. The producers of the film had come up with an elaborate poem called the Riddle of Steel and Smith pretty much said "Fuck that," and decided that the scene should be more like a dad having "the Talk" with his son and the shit was magical. Smith was also a certified stuntman. When you see the war dogs go after Conan's father, that's Smith in a padded costume doing the actual work. One of the dogs was a pregnant female and she bit through the costume and injured Smith during filming. He signed a waiver to prevent the dog from being put down and urban legend says that the trainers of the dogs gave him one of the pups. At the time of his death, he still had a scar on his wrist from the dog bite and showed it to a reporter a couple of years ago during an interview.
