DreamBroken
Invicta signed with UFC to have their events broadcast exclusively on Fight Pass. Really enjoyed the first 7 Invicta shows, never cared to get Fight Pass before but I guess I'll be looking into it now.
Ned
They just announced on the Pre show for tonights Fight Night that UFC is going to Foxwoods Resort Center in Ledyard, Connecticut on September 5. This is significant as it is the same day as Bellator's season 11 premiere. Not only that, but it is in the same state. So much for Dana's "I don't even consider them competition" statements When was the last time UFC ran a U.S. show at a venue under 10,000 excluding visits to bases? Ask as Foxwoods is going to hold the show at its Grand Theatre which holds around 4,000. And it's a theatre, not an arena, which would make for an odd set-up

The show at the House Gray Maynard and Beyonce Built aka Revel Casino (going back in July) in June 2012 and a visit to Hard Rock in Dec. 2012. Before that was a show at the Palms in June 2012 also. TheVileOne
I've seen two events at the Palms and it is a pretty cool, unique experience.

Really enjoyed the first 7 Invicta shows, never cared to get Fight Pass before but I guess I'll be looking into it now. That's great for them. They'll get far more exposure and a far more stable stream on there than they've had before.
Elsalvajeloco
Also stay around a little bit longer. I am not sure about their financial situation. This deal has been essentially done for about two months and just announced last night. The UFC was using Invicta footage for Leslie Smith (and probably someone else) in the same timeframe. I don't think it's a coincidence that yesterday morning, Tatame put out a interview with Cyborg saying she would defend her belt against India Gomes in Invicta (still without a date). Like I said, the Lion Fights show for July in Vegas would've been a good spot to promote Cyborg for a Rousey fight down the line. In that same light, I am not sure how long before Shannon Knapp gives up ownership to Zuffa. Invicta ain't like RFA and WSOF. Their biggest money backer is now Zuffa and not someone with their own interests.

TheVileOne
The UFC 174 prelims will be on FX. Interesting. Is this a one-time thing or are they trying to get more UFC programming back on FX because of ratings?

S.K.o.S.
Jones/Gus II for 9/27. If that holds up, then Jones will have main evented the last four Toronto shows, which I don't really understand. Unless there's some kind of hometown connection, you should be showcasing a variety of fighters in any one city.
Elsalvajeloco
I think timing is a big issue. They roll into Toronto every year and want to keep that market strong since Toronto is probably top 3 in terms of UFC interest (I know it is for PPV buys). TheVileOne
OK, so if Belfort failed his last drug test, or was over the allowed levels, shouldn't he be suspended? Or are they going to address this at the June 17 hearing? I realize he hadn't applied for a license yet and wasn't licensed to fight yet, but does that even matter? The commission tested him, and he failed.
LethalStriker
When he failed the tests wasn't it right after when he was denied the chance to use TUE for the fight? So if he was hoping to use TUE for the fight wouldn't he still have been using TRT up until that point? The re-tests when he was taking himself off of the stuff should be more accurate of a measuring tool.

epwar
If the Vitor thing couldn't get any stranger, the UFC has released a statement IN SUPPORT of him. So let me get this straight, they pulled a fighter for refusing a drug test and are now fully supporting his replacement, who just failed a drug test. Wow. hammerva
Well giving that Vitor is the last chance of having a Chael Sonnen fight that anyone would give two shits about, it doesn't surprise me that Dana would support it. Dana was looking for a reason to kick Silva to the curb anyway

Guest Edwin
Vitor is a somewhat recognizable name who has 3 head kick KO wins in a row along with some more highlight reel KO's, so it's safe to say they'll obviously back him up.
