So Amazing Spider-Man looks like it will be settling in with a RT rating of around 54% (It has 225 reviews already so that number isn't going to move much)

*looks at own list*

Since I waited until after the UK release to do my list, I got a sense that ASM2 wouldn't have an upswing. Anyway, I thought it had rotten written all over it once the ComicCon footage was released. Doctor Manhattan Jamie Foxx trying to be menacing? Yeah, the critics are going to have a field day.

I mean it could end up being OK. Part of that is because I purposely ranked a bunch of movies that I thought wouldn't get above like 35%. So I could still get the placement right

I have it 5th on my list and I remember last year the Top 5 was like

movie in the 90s

movie in the 80s

two movies in 70s

one in the 60s

I figured The Amazing Spider-Man 2's Rotten Tomatoes would drop as they have for most comic books films when the US critics get to see it but not as low as 54% rotten.

Suicide King of Spades started the Summer Blockbuster Movie Pool back in 2008 and it remains the best year with The Dark Knight, Iron Man, Hellboy II: The Golden Army, WALL-E and Kung Fu Panda. Might be forgetting something.

And ASM 2 made $91.6 million on its opening weekend.  The closest recent comparison is Fast & Furious 6 last year, which made $97 million on its opening weekend and ended up 5th on the box office list.

I have ASM2 a spot ahead of Expendables 3 on the RT list. The second Expendables 2 was barely fresh at 65% and the first one was rotten at 41%. I'm feeling a bit more optimistic about my choice.

I felt half of these would get 60%-50% or lower but thought ASM2 would be around the 70% mark. Balls!

I'm doing another BO contest and had ASM2 $260m/$70m. Extra balls!

Also not to make this a running thing but i saw the trailer for Tammy today and that's making $140m :D

I'd like to participate in this, but an American film-going audience that is willing to shell out to see a Transformers movie is an American film-going audience I can't understand.

I hate the Transformers movies but jeez, dude, don't be so pretentious. It's a fun pool on a wrestling forum.

It's cool.  I kind of like how Captain New Japan seems to be mocking me for it.  "You ignored the lessons learned from Identity Thief!  Ah ha ha ha!"

Just looking at some numbers here, and people seem REALLY uncertain about how The Giver is going to do with the critics.

We have 31 people in the pool right now, including pipGofern.  16 people left The Giver off their RT list entirely, so only 15 people actually even ranked it.

Then if you look at the 15 people who ranked it - it shows up at least once on every spot in peoples' RT lists except for last and second last.  Like one person ranked it first, one person ranked it second, one person ranked it third, two people ranked it fourth, and it goes on like that.  There is virtually no consensus about where it's going to end up.
