  1. Boy, was I too kind to how I thought Action Point would do. But none of the Jackass movies ever got rotten scores on RT so even though the one trailer I saw was pretty bad, my comedy tastes are not mainstream so I couldn't presume most people would think that movie is a stinker. I guess I'll stick to reading more stories about the actual Action Park instead. But yes that is worse for me than Solo being a flop, as many others here did not predict that either.
  2. I figured that for once I would join this before the competition starts. Last year I did not do so well due to some dumb prognostication on my part. With any luck my performance this summer will be better. 3. <Sheepishly raises hand, before quickly putting it back down> Yeah, I fell for quite the logical fallacy on my part when I should have known better. If I would have known that Eyez had such production problems, I would have not even put it on the list at all. At least I know already not to expect a prize this year.
  4. Yeah, I wasn't sure where to rank it either. I expected it to be good but I wasn't sure if studio interference would ruin that too, so I do wish I would have had it higher in RT; I figured it would make a lot of cash either way. I had it in the BO but not the RT as I had no idea either if it'd be any good. The trailers did not impress me but considering they wanted to start a big franchise and it starred someone who rarely is in bad movies, and both the BO and RT won't help me as I presumed it wouldn't be such a stinker. I was expecting it to be bad like Cars 2 was (40%), so I know my standing at number 2 won't last for that much longer.
  5. Well, I don't really want that to be a hit either as the idea itself is pretty asinine and it doesn't help improve my dim view of modern-day Hollywood. I just had the suspicion that it would be. Me too, me too. Yeah they are. The last one made a billion dollars worldwide and more than 3/4 of that was internationally, so it's no surprise they are flogging a dead horse there. This one will probably make a lot overseas too. That doesn't make me feel good. I was hoping it'd make more money than Prometheus domestically but now I am not sure if that will be the case. I also expected more from Baywatch and while those trailers made it look bad in my eyes, my comedic tastes are different from a lot of people so I can't expect that to be an accurate barometer. At least domestically, what a horrid year for Paramount so far. I have to hope that some other movies bomb, which is a definite possibility.
  6. So, after an absence of a few years (and not even being around these boards in general for the past year) I figured it was time to return. Even when I did not participate I always enjoyed looking at the threads in years past. Thankfully I usually did alright too. I have no idea how I'll do this time but in hindsight if I would have participated last year, I probably would have been as befuddled as many people were at how the box office turned out. Box Office 1 Despicable Me 3 (Jun 30) 2 Spider-Man: Homecoming (Jul 7) 3 Wonder Woman (Jun 2) 4 The Emoji Movie (Jul 28) 5 Cars 3 (Jun 16) 6 War for the Planet of the Apes (Jul 14) 7 Transformers: The Last Knight (Jun 23) 8 Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales (May 26) 9 Dunkirk (Jul 21) 10 Alien: Covenant (May 19) 11 The Mummy (Jun 9) 12 Baywatch (May 24) 13 Captain Underpants (Jun 2) 14 The Dark Tower (Aug 4) 15 Valerian and the City of a Thousand Planets (Jul 21) Rotten Tomatoes 1 Baby Driver (Jun 28) 2 All Eyez On Me (Jun 16) 3 War for the Planet of the Apes (Jul 14) 4 Alien: Covenant (May 19) 5 Wonder Woman (Jun 2) 6 Dunkirk (Jul 21) 7 Atomic Blonde (July 28) 8 Spider-Man: Homecoming (Jul 7) 9 Despicable Me 3 (Jun 30) 10 The Mummy (Jun 9) 11 The Dark Tower (Aug 4) 12 Cars 3 (Jun 16) 13 Valerian and the City of a Thousand Planets (Jul 21) 14 Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales (May 26) 15 Transformers: The Last Knight (Jun 23) Tiebreaker: War of the Planet of the Apes: 170 million dollars Even I can't believe I am putting faith into something called The Emoji Movie, but it being a kids movie late in summer and the possibility it's not terrible means it may actually be a hit.
  7. Terrance Williams = not very smart. A very satisfying finish it was not but at least it wasn't the Dallas QB who blew it late.
  8. We already got Cutler pulling a Cutler, even if it may not have fully been his fault.
  9. I now have a new signature. Thank you for that great line. Yeah, that is pretty telling. On Roman Reigns, not your friend. Yes exactly. Everyone online feels the same way. I don't get the booking either unless they went out of their way to troll their audience. I'll give you credit, that description is hilarious. Oh, that's Mauro Ranallo, who called MMA and kickboxing matches in the few years before being signed by WWE, although he did wrestling announcing on a local level long ago. I don't have quite the vitriol for the show that others have. Maybe it's because I rarely watch any sort of wrestling anymore and I haven't regularly watched WWE in an eternity but I thought things were at least decent.. until the Womens Title match ended, which was my favorite match on the show. After that it took a higher jump off the top of Hell in a Cell than Shane did and the last section of the show was just bad. But even then, I did not like who they chose to win throughout most of WM, I can at least agree with everyone there. EDIT: I have NO idea how this response ended up in this thread. This is my first time on the "new" board so I will blame it on that.
  10. I definitely noticed it, as did plenty of people online. Everyone despised that guy with a passion. I wish someone would have put a muzzle on him. I'd say that Cam got off to a rocky start and with that punishing Denver D, it was all she wrote. The game wasn't the best but at least there was quality D from both teams. That halftime show, I agree with everyone that it wasn't good. Even the production was boring aside from the millions of different colors that were used.
  11. To steal a line from someone else, it was amusing that the guy accused of cheating got more boos from the crowd than the guy accused of murder..
  12. Definitely, on both accounts. What an idiotic thing to do, elbowing Brown as if he was Misawa. Then again, there are plenty of Bengals who are chokers, to be honest. Way to blow a game.
  13. I'd say that you were right. While there have been memorable moments, I'll most remember this for the terrible officiating and the atrocious play from both teams. What bonehead moves from a whole lot of people tonight.
  14. I actually looked it up and even I was surprised. There is them beating Detroit 38-14.. in 2008. Yes, the 0-16 Lions season. Before that, they won 49-11 vs. Oakland in '07.
  15. I hope that everyone's sitting down part 2: Schaub threw a pick six.
