What's everyone's favorite tag team name? Not team itself but the name. I'd have to think about all time but right now I'm very fond of The Ichiban Sweet Boys

For parody names, nothing beats The African American Wolves (AR Fox & ACH) and the Inner City Machine Guns (Ricochet and Rich Swann).  Bonus points for also referring to them as the (Martin Luther) Kings of Wrestling and Degeneration Malcolm X.

El Generico and Human Tornado teaming as “Two Skinny Black Guys” and, years later, Generico and Willie Mack as “Two Husky Black Guys.”

The Men of Low Moral Fiber

The Fightin’ Taylor Boys (Chuck Taylor teamed with the unrelated Ryan Taylor, and Brian Cage, announced as “Brian Cage-Taylor”).

Really, anything PWG did.

I gotta think cause I know there is more, but my first choice off the top of the head is the Kings of Wrestling just cause their one of the main moves was called the KRS-ONE. However, instead of it being Knowledge Reigns Supreme Over Nearly Everyone like Kris of BDP, it was the Kings Reign Supreme Over Nearly Everyone. Now, that's clever.

Hero's love of hip hop was a part of me being into him as another white wrestling nerd from Ohio with a less than ideal physique. Felt good to live vicariously through him.

Watching Clash of the Champions 14…JR just extolled Butch Reed’s NFL background and Dusty, on commentary with him, followed it with an explanation of how all football players really want to become wrestlers because wrestling is the next step up.  JR gritting his teeth was almost audible on the mic.  So awesome to hear JR’s bullshit getting kayfabe refuted.

”Wrestling is the next step for real athletes who want to really push themselves” is worlds better than “wrestling is for pro football washouts.”

I had to pause the main event, Flair vs Scott Steiner, to go watch this:

Nature Boy, NUMBER TWOOOOOO

2000 Scott Steiner trying to say "backstabbing, butt-sucking, ass kissing" for like half a minute before he can manage it never gets old and will always brighten your day.

Minnesota Wrecking Crew, Minnesota Stretching Crew, and Minnesota Homewrecking Crew are all top tier as well.

Dream Orca. Nonsensical names from Japan are cool. I have a fan hanging up in the basement for ROD, Roughly Obsess and Destroy. B.A.T.T. was a group, but Bad Ass Translate Trading is a name that puts fear in everyone.😆

I believe either Jesse or Monsoon said that for Niedhart.

@Zimbra who is the Minnesota Homewrecking Crew?  That is tremendous.

Lacey and Rain. If you watched SHIMMER and all the indies that featured women's wrestling prominently back in those days, they were good. And yes, I second the name Minnesota Homewrecking Crew.

It's not a tag team name, but Devastation Incorporated is the best stable name. Because they were actually a corporation run by Middle Eastern Oil Magnate and military man, General Scandor Akbar.

Re: Dream Orca

AJW had the Beauty Pair and the Black Pair. Obviously, they also had the Crush Gals and the Jumping Bomb Angels. They tried to redo the cute tomboy thing ala the Crush Gals with the Fire Jets (Yumiko Hotta and Mitsuko Nishiwaki), but Nishiwaki's career didn't last long and pretty much forced Hotta to languish as the top singles act who can never win the red belt until the post interpromotional/boom era of the mid 90s. They had Jungle Jack (Aja Kong and Bison Kimura), which grew out of the Villainous Alliance stable and subsequent Gokumon-to stable. Then, they had every possible permutation of the 1987 graduation class for some reason: 1987 Team Gold Combo (Manami Toyota and Toshiyo Yamada), Dream Orca (Etsuko Mita and Toshiyo Yamada), Tokyo Sweethearts (Manami Toyota and Mimi Shimoda), and Las Cachorras Orientales (Etsuko Mita and Mimi Shimoda). IIRC, I believe Mita and Toyota also did tag up briefly in the late 80s into the 1990s as well and randomly once they became stars in between singles and tag runs for Toyota and when Mita came into her own as the inventor of the Death Valley Driver and the company's giant bruiser as 1/2 of LCO.

Gold Combo and LCO were the two greatest female tag teams of the 90s and early 2000s (TBH of any gender really) and arguably the best up until you get like Thunder Rock (Io Shirai and Mayu Iwatani) and Best Friends (Arisa Nakajima and Tsukasa Fujimoto) in the mid to late 2010s.

For the men, Great Bash Heel ended as a tag team after being a stable in New Japan.

Having just watched some USWA, I reminded how much I love anytime Corey Maclin gets elated saying "THE MOONDOGS!". Even better, the gimmick matches the name.

My tag team made up of me and my Dad's CAWS alternated between Violence Alliance and Whoop Ass Inc. I prefer Violence Alliance.

I'm picturing Violence Alliance being managed by Tedfy Longcforcsome reason just he can book them against the Undertaker. I really want to Teddy Long say Violence Alliance. I also want to hear the late Ted Knight say Violence Alkiance in his Super Friends narrator voice

Co-sign on Lacey. If she came around in 2012 or so, she would have been an absolute superstar.

Quick note, LCO was a trio at first, with Akira Hokuto in the mix, but she wasn't in it very long because obviously that'd be way too powerful.

And you're right about Mita and Toyota being a team first, that was just before the Mexico trip where LCO was formed.
