Never has someone been a potential harm to both HIMSELF and his opponent with his finish like Kidman. Hell, as you note, Kidman almost killed himself with an SSP. Scared the shit outta Bischoff in the process. To return to an earlier discussion, I loved slow zombie mortician Undertaker as a kid. He had that aura. From BONGGGG to body bag, I was into him methodically destroying jobbers and sitting up after eating offense. Faux-MMA Taker is the version whose matches I can't stand. hammerva Posted November 1 Posted November 1 (edited) From the sounds of it, it isn't really a firing but more of them not looking for a new contract in 90 days. Not sure if there is a wrestler who went from. "get the fuck off TV" to being generally liked among the same crowd as fast. That NXT run completely changed him never really know how good Tegan Nox could be because she had 2 horrible injuries before becoming an NXT regular. Unfortunately her legacy for accidently boosting Rhea Ripley career Edited November 1 by hammerva

DreamBroken Posted November 1 Posted November 1 Always liked all three. Tegan never got to do anything, though I enjoyed her brief tag with Natalya, but I always had hopes that Indi would get to do more than she got.

That looks like what this new regime is doing. I don't think they will be firing/releasing people unless they really have to. If the do release people it will probably be not to many people at once like in the previous regime. I thought Corbin would be a lifer like Miz. I thought he was a solid worker for his spot. He was better than people gave him credit for. He's one of the best examples of someone built from the Performance Center. 3
Peck Posted November 1 Posted November 1 Since I mentioned it, going to re-post my Corbin story from March 2019: Quote I know he gets shit on a lot here for his work(and I'm not saying it's right or wrong) but had the chance to meet Corbin last night and he couldn't have been any nicer. There were 5 or 6 of us having some beers outside about an hour before the show adjacent to where everyone parks. Baron pulls in, gets out and spends 5-10 minutes just bullshitting with us. Joking about how we have to keep booing him inside so he can stay employed and encouraging us to give him the finger instead if anyone loses their voice. Talked video games and colleges too(one of the girls in our group brought her daughter who is graduating from high school in a couple of months). Came back out after the show and spent 10 more minutes talking with us, thanked us for the middle fingers(we all had aisle seats) and some more bullshitting before he hit the road. Couldn't possibly have been any friendlier or more down-to-earth. 8

odessasteps Posted November 2 Posted November 2 Corbin has always been a good supporting character on UUDD.
RazorbladeKiss87 Posted November 2 Posted November 2 Corbin always made the best of what they gave him and I grew to actually like him. GCW could use him in his anti-indie gimmick. Indi sucks. I really like her and thought they might do something with her but the jump from NXT never took off. TNA would be good for her. I don't know where she slots into AEW at this exact time but in six months, who knows. 1
username Posted November 2 Posted November 2 I feel bad for Corbin as he's just so damaged from all the bad stuff he was a part of (which was mostly due to booking even if he was sometimes out of his depth), he really needed a Drew McIntyre "go away and re-establish yourself" run but now that he's 40 I think it's probably just too late for that. Indi and Tegan... never like to see people lose their jobs but they weren't particularly cut out for theirs. Tegan just got wrecked by injuries and Indi... is probably a nice person? 1
Curt McGirt Posted November 2 Posted November 2 Corbin on here (and in my household) went hard from super hated to pretty well-liked. I wish him the best in his future endeavors, I suppose? Here is Blackjack Mulligan telling about fighting Andre the Giant, literally fighting. I'm gonna probably have to watch this whole shoot. He seems to have photographic recall of events, names, places and is just a hell of a storyteller. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ko2UnrbDBGM

That gimmick where he was poor and down on his luck was one of the only fun things at that time. I had stopped watching the TV but I'd find the clips. He was trying to open a can of beans with a rock. It ruled. And they built him up to be sympathetic eventually, the people who were watching were starting to get behind him. He eventually drops his last dollar into a slot machine, wins millions and millions....and becomes even more of an asshole than he was before he went broke. I started watching again around that time and I fucking loved that. 7
bobholly138 Posted November 2 Posted November 2 Family issues meant I have to take the month of October off from going to indie shows. That changed today. Spent 3 hours in the car heading to a school right on the edge of the rez in Philidelphia Mississippi. Pro Wrestling EGO was the fed. Had 4 matches in front of close to 300 people. With 250 of that being the K-8th grade students. Those kids and the teachers and staff were loud the entire show. The matches were.... they were matches. Lots of local vet vs green rookies from outside the area. Seems a carload of 3 young guys drove down from outside Chicago to work this show. Two of them tagged up in the opening match at Team D.A.R.E. vs The Addiction. Addiction was played by local vet RJW. Then we got a womens match. Cassandra Golden vs rookie fromm the coast Lucy Blade. Lucy came out with Vladimir Koloff as her second. He kept interfearing in the match. Which after it was over caused WARHAWK to run out challenge Koloff to a match as the Main event. More on WARHAWK in a minute. 3rd match was the only title match on the card. And it wasn't for any of the Pro Wrestling EGO titles. Nope was fellow road dog Nightmare Jeremiah defending his AWA PRO Heritage title against Aries Creed, the other guy in the car from Chicago. Was fun before the doors opened hearing the promoter tell Jeremiah "OK keep it in the ring." Then the principal asks why. So I showed him clips from all the wild brawls Nightmare has had over the past 2 years. Like Nightmare and RJW fighting in the bathroom of a VFW hall. Or the time Nightmare got put into a figure four on top the bar by Draven Lee at a TGCW event. And to break the hold Nightmare kept stabbing Draven in the thigh with a plastic spork. The Principal loved it. Told them to fight out side the ring. And they did and into the bleachers and chairs got involved. The kids went nuts. After the match,Nightmare won of course,he attacked the ref. Chokeslammed him. Then from out under the bleachers ran some guy in a blue lucha mask. He gets in the ring and chokeslammed Nightmare. Nightmare rolls out to the floor and lays there as the kids yell YOU SUCK at him. And Blue mask takes the mask off SHOCKER it is the School Principal, who I learned also drives the school bus. Then our main event. Vladimir Koloff with Lucy Blade as his valet vs WARHAWK. Warhawk is a Native American indie wrestler. Who is the main reason EGO got this show. Nice guy. When he entered the gym hours later I went over to introduce myself. Got asked what my ring name was "Don't have one. Never got trained. I film" I guess being 6'3" barefoot with a shaved head and a goatee that puts Scott Ian's to shame made me look like a worker to Warhawk. Warhawk of course wins. The school is 98% Native American students. After his victory out came the tag team from earlier and all three celebrated with the crowd. Then as we were packing up and starting to haul stuff to the car saw Warhawk over by the exit with a huge line of folks wanting pics with him. Now school show so couldnt set up a table and vend. But even after money for gas and then a meal after the show I was happy. Not often I goto a show or see a show where with a simple headlock takedown you can get the crowd on their feet and screaming. Cassandra Golden did it 3 times in her match. Now to get some sleep and get ready for Saturday. BIW in my town. Main event is BIW Southern Heavyweight champion Bam Bam Malone vs Alex Kane. And also got Barret Brown vs Christian Blake,no I didn't get the names reversed. The Deep south has Christian or Xtian Blake. This isn't the former GCW champion with the similar name. 7
