Dolfan in NYC Posted October 30 Posted October 30 Big wheels keep on turnin', carry me home to see my kin... Singin' songs about the Southland! I miss Alabamy once again, and I think it's a sin, I said... The BCC continues to speedrun the 1998 nWo storyline as the wrestlers try to band against them, as incompetent management sits around. Wonder if we'll get more of that?  Well, I heard Mr. Young sing about her! Well, I heard old Neil put her down. Well, I hope Neil Young will remember... A Southern man don't need him around, anyhow! Here's what's happening on Dynamite:  Sweet home Alabama...Where the skies are so blue! Sweet home Alabama... Lord, I'm comin' home to you! That's a lotta stuff to watch! And that's just tonight!  (Sorry about the confederate flag.) Enjoy the week! 3 1

That's it. 2
Casey Posted October 30 Posted October 30 I’m so wishy washy on this company these days, I swear. WrestleDream, I wasn’t into the BCC stuff. The Dynamite after? Hell yeah, that was awesome. Now it’s just… they’re targeting Darby, OC and a bunch of midcarders and literal jobbers. It feels too contained to a subsection of the card. Say what you want about the NWO, but at least everyone in the company had some urgency to them because this new, big threat was here and targeting everyone. I know it’s early days, but so far it’s missing with me far more than it’s connecting. And it also feels like a vehicle for Yuta, and much like Daniel Garcia, I just don’t give a fuck. Hangman, Swerve, Jay White, MJF, Adam Cole, House of Black, you name it. None of these people are connected to this “takeover” story and it’s fuckin’ lame IMO. BCC doesn’t feel like the Thanos of AEW, it’s more like Ultron. Sounds cool in promo videos, but the execution is weak. Don't get me started on how they have a female member, but seemingly don’t care about the female division. I mean, I don’t want to see a Shafir match, but still. She’s been taking grown ass dudes out all by herself, but Mariah May isn’t concerned at all? Mercedes? Anyone? 6
HarryArchieGus Posted October 30 Posted October 30 An interesting card. Stoked for Benjamin v Swerve tho not sure it'll be a clean 1 on 1 from bell to bell. The Bucks have carried the Privates before. I'm not at all here for the crowning of the undeserving Quen/Kassidy. Hoping Kassidy gets some aim post match. It could be rough-going, but I'm curious what Stat v Kamille will look like. Not expecting it, but hoping it's worthy of some 'Meat' chants. Cole v Buddy, hmmm? Hanger's got something on his mind. It'll be interesting to see how fired up OC can get while maintaining his cool. Loving this divisive BCC team/angle, but maybe it's because I've never seen this as an Invasion angle or having anything to do with the NWO. I hope they highlight that excellent Nigel/Wheeler segment from Saturday. 2
Zakk_Sabbath Posted October 30 Posted October 30 @Dolfan in NYCÂ Nice one - I hope the competition's thread this week is "Just Like You, Baby, I'm On The Hunt-er Hearst-Helmsley" 1
Technico Support Posted October 30 Posted October 30 (edited) I'm just hoping Christian gets another main event so you can use Father Figure. On the "how's this show look?" front... I like fired up OC gunning for Mox after the 'fridging of Chuckie T, but we know this is just chapter one and the endgame is someone bigger than OC, so it just kind of sucks to see him job to Mox again. I seriously don't care about the Bucks vs PP because they speedran the angle in 3 weeks. Buddy the designated jobber for HOB is going to do his designated job and piss off body guys everywhere. Swerve vs Shelton is just being done to build Swerve vs Lashley. Bleh. It's funny how the Bucks and Mox have both cut promos on midcarders saying "you're in the same place you were five years ago!" when the guy booking the show and ostensibly writing those promos is the one at fault and it's all true. Pretty wild to create a shitty situation and then build a gimmick on it. I like all those guys, but agree huge here - I understand the idea of their last PPV bout being a necessity to get to, but I really think it wouldve done a lot more for the PP "redemption" (as well as Mox/BCC) if they were out a bit longer after the hammer attack/beatdown a while back. Speed run is def an apt word for it - in a perfect world, we would've gotten 90-99% of the same story but given more room to breathe, maybe elongated to (let's say) World's End or the big Winter is Coming TV in Dec. Thinking ahead, since they've already been announced, I wonder if there's anything planned for the Bucks and/or the titles (and/or PP, though doubtful) at the Dome in January that would necessitate this kind of pacing Edited October 30 by Zakk_Sabbath spellz 1
Casey Posted October 30 Posted October 30 It seems increasingly obvious that Bucks versus Omega/Tanahashi is happening at WrestleDynasty. 2

Technico Support Posted October 30 Posted October 30 Everclear's "Father of Mine" would also work for Christian main eventing. 2
Leonidas Posted October 30 Posted October 30 Can't believe he hasn't used the Father Figure 4 Leg Lock yet. I can hear Nigel calling it now... 2 2

Thanks, Casey, I'm a bit out of the loop clearly - so yeah, maybe that's why the big rush with this program? Just speculatin' anyway. Also: Quick PSA for @The Natural@AxBand any of our other friends across the pond: the show's on early (I believe 12 your time) because your clocks have already changed but the States' don't until Saturday night/Sunday morning (not sure how that's gonna affect Collision for you all, but I just saw it on Twitter and thought I'd pass along quickly so no one's left out by accident) 2

JLowe Posted October 30 Posted October 30 I like Yuta and Garcia, and I feel like OC has been established as an upper-tier guy, but this angle needs to be the redemption of Hangman. And I and other have said it before but running BCCWO at the same time as the Hurt Syndicate angle is just dumb. Tickets for Collision in Philly are as low as $20. My wife expressed interest, I think so she can boo Mariah May (my wife is a major Timeless Toni fan). Knowing that Collision is where I might see Outrunners, MxM, LFI, and luchadors has me interested. 2

Curt McGirt Posted October 30 Posted October 30 I don't remember watching much of anything since the PPV. This looks... underwhelming. 1

Casey Posted October 31 Posted October 31 Lashley lookin’ like he just saw Yahya Abdul-Mateen II in that Matrix movie. Weirdly enough, the line ”they used to dance for me, too” might have sold me on Perry/Garcia and I don’t like either of them. WHY DOES NO ONE ELSE CARE ABOUT THE BCC STUFF??? Swerve was literally all “rah rah AEW” a few months ago and now, returned the night this shit started, and not a peep from him, not even a single sentence. It’s just Darby, OC and a bunch of (sorry) nobodies that don’t stand a chance. So they just want to… motivate the young guys? Uhhh, okay, I guess? This isn’t the existential threat to AEW that it was promised to be. Alex Reynolds cares more than every former AEW champion. Let that sink in.  4
KriskitaKoloff Posted October 31 Posted October 31 I only caught the last hour but I thought there were some good moments. Babyfaces finally won a brawl against BCC and sorta came together. Darby did the Sting ziplining spot as another throwback to nWo moments but BCC doesnt come off as an nWo, they come off as dicks who just beat up jobbers. Which they did again later when they attacked Bucks manager despite there being way more important targets in the arena. Statlander vs Kamille was meh. Private Party was a typical Bucks heel match with 100 finishers but the crowd was definitely buying into all the 2 counts and PP got a big pop when they won. Swerve vs Shelton was obviously going to end with Lashley arriving but he got a good reaction. A massive heel beatdown with security running in seemed goofy considering it was just done an hour ago. Who are the real threat, BCC in the midcard beating up jobbers or Hurt Business who are in the main event stomping out one of the most over wrestlers in the promotion? Match had some fun spots though, I loved Shelton using his amateur skills to kick out into a waistlock into a german suplex. Bucks walking off was goofy. Are they going to copy the Bloodline reunion angle and have Bucks return with Kenny to fight off BCC down the line for control of their company? Also when did Christopher Daniels get so corny on camera? You wouldnt think by his acting that dude has been doing this for 30 years.
Curt McGirt Posted October 31 Posted October 31 (edited) This'll be a short one Spoiler - Didn't pay much attention to the rasslin'. Especially Adam Cole and the tag match, though I liked the outcome with the Bucks wimping out and running away, which was a nice bit of storytelling to evolve things. Pssssh... Brandon Cutler. I might actually go back and watch Kamille/Kris (the PnP pissed me off so I went back to Facebook) and Shelton/Swerve (Shelton was stiff tossing around Swerve outside the ring but man that thighslapathon they had at one point...). I guess I'm okay with Booby Lashley and his pals being here, until something gets stale. MVP always is a hoot, looked like Nana was making him corpse at ringside at one point. Also, that's how you do a SECURITY or STAFF rush, you hold your ground and kick the shit out of them through the ropes, that's what you do. - It is time for AEW FASHION REPORT. Tonight we have Kyle Fletcher with the best move of the night, lopping off that awful football yobbo/American high schooler/fourth-grade child haircut! Whaddamanoover. And MARK DAVIS is back in the fold! Sadly, the grandiosity of his handlemar mustache is missing, yet when Hangman walks into the scene right after their segment, we are reminded that the top guys get the looks they want -- nay, the looks they need. I guess Shelton and Swerve were dressed up like video game characters? Bobby's purple suit was like something I wore to a wedding once, very nice. In more of a physical issue, at one point Moxley appears to have a worm underneath the skin on the inside of his elbow. I know it's a vein but man it's creepy, looks like a picture of the Ebola virus under a microscope. Also, everyone, and I mean everyone sounded like they were lisping tonight. It was very, very strange. - Darby looking like a corpse dropping from the ceiling was great. Unfortunately he didn't hit anyone with a pumpkin! What is this non-wrestling-on-Halloween bullshit?! - Will everyone be happy again if OC wins the belt? What if he does, then they torture him into... THE DEATH MATCH.  Edited October 31 by Curt McGirt 1 1

Curt McGirt Posted October 31 Posted October 31 Oh god, a redemption angle. Fuck all that. Let them stay far away from this, take a vacation, and only come back with, like, Kenny. Oh god again... how long is Kenny out again? Because if he's coming back soon you know where this is going (see above). 2

So I think it’s a safe bet what Grand Slam in Australia will get for a main event (Kenny vs Mox).
Nice Guy Eddie Posted October 31 Posted October 31 What should I watch when this episode goes On Demand? I'm watching the Yankees/Dodgers game.Â
