I mean, I realize it’s been a while since he’s been able to show it, first with the suspension and then mostly doing garbage-style Elite stuff since he came back, but we used to have a longer memory than this. He can GO. Danielson/Perry is going to be awesome. He’s never even been a top 20 in-ring guy in the 3 years I’ve been watching. He’s slightly above average in a company full of guys than can go, and he shit the bed in his biggest chances so far. 1 1 1

Technico Support Posted August 29, 2024 Posted August 29, 2024 Aubrey having to ignore Strong’s foot on the rope, and then having to step over his still on the rope leg to call for the bell, was hilarious. No idea what Mox’s deal is but I dug his Claude from GTA 3 cosplay attire. Hayter’s gear is weird. Looks like she had an accident in the crepe paper aisle. Taz was amazing during P in P, referring to himself as a “short king” and saying his has a 22” inseam but the torso of a 6’6” guy. 2 2

Been away for a few days, thinking I could avoid All In spoilers and watch a replay before Dynamite, but I could not make that happen so I watched Dynamite and learned most, but not all of the results. Anyway, having another PPV two weeks after a huge one results in this uneven, very WWE feeling show. Mox thing was confusing, out of nowhere, and topped off with reintroduction of a still sloppy, dangerous Marina Shafir. Why? Conglomeration, yay! Hook, meh. Hangman-Ishii was fun but, dare it say it, a little long for what it was. Lots of filler in the middle. The aftermath with Swerve was good stuff and actually sold me on that part of the PPV. MJF was more to the point and back to his old self. Garcia’s sneak attack was aces, his promo was hit and miss. I I can’t recall what had PAC jump Ospreay, but meh. I had Hayter’s return spoiled, but not her new look. She’s thinner, less bulk muscle, and oddly looks shorter. Harley showed that she’s still very green, imagine Hayter-Saraya will be better than that at least. Mone’s party looked cheap and was bad WWE shit. She only had the NJPW Strong belt, but she was celebrating a win? Was she wearing the TBS? They’re not dumb enough to have Britt when at All In, right? Learning Tree with Roderick Strong was random. The 8-man was fine, Bill and Keith are getting over. Hook can’t do anything but throws, but it is impressive seeing him T-bone Bill. I honestly don’t remember who won, and I do not care a whit about The Kingdom at this point. Bryan! Great speech! Jack Perry? No, just no. Not at all. It’s Ricochet! I have no idea who he is but he’s been around a long time and is flippy like Ospreay and Dante. It’s Kyle Fletcher, here for another job where he bumps and catches! Was it a good match? Sure. Was it amazing and something we don’t regularly see? Eh. Hoping we get Takeshita back soon. PAC's the #1 challenger to Will Ospreay and the AEW International Championship at All Out. Also, PAC's the bastard ;). Agree with you on Bryan Danielson, Jack Perry and Konsuke Takeshita. Edited August 29, 2024 by The Natural
Ziggy Posted August 30, 2024 Posted August 30, 2024 I can't wait until we get Ricochet vs Ospreay and Ricochet vs Pac. I just hope TK doesn't just put it on free TV. Before MJF won the title. I was hoping Ospreay just had a long reign with that tite and built it up like Gunther with the IC title to where it's main eventing TV and PPVs. Plus AEW has so many titles that I feel they need to make a conscious effort to make their secondary male singles title as meaningful as the world title. They've done it with the TBS title for the women. Guys like Pac, Ricochet, Claudio are all guys that you can build that division around without having much of a story or angle driven just based around workrate. 1

username Posted August 30, 2024 Posted August 30, 2024 I think Perry as Danielson's first title defense is weak (it'd be a fine tv defense, ppv is stretching it) but I think the reception is less due to the individual match being a letdown but like... we've seen Perry on TV for 5 years now and he's just never gonna be the guy and this feels like yet another attempt at trying to ignore this reality. He's pretty much at his ceiling right now, lightning striking on circumstances around him giving him an actually interesting situation and holding a second tier title is already his best case scenario. Like this isn't a no cost thing, all these opportunities spent on him aren't going to someone else who could potentially be a top level talent. Allow me to gesture towards the ghost of Ricky Starks and the theoretical world where he got half the chances Perry has, if you don't care for him pick Garcia or any of your other personal faves. 2 1
HarryArchieGus Posted August 30, 2024 Posted August 30, 2024 Thoroughly loved this episode. Mox opening was fun. He and Shafir looked great later. Is this where Shane comes in? I'm intrigued. Conglomeration promo was spot on. I need this all to parlay Mark Briscoe into something very meaningful. The All Star Tag was solid until that fucked up finish, ugh!?! Ishii v Page was a delight. Was that Ishii's best match of his excursion? The Swerve/Hanger confrontation that followed was tremendous. One of Swerve's stronger promos. Steel Cage, yes! Hayter v Harley was solid. Saraya/Harley helped portray Ms. Hayter as a killer. MJF/Garcia segment was excellent! Bring that shit on. I sure hope Friedman Dudn't EZDub him. Have we seen Hechicero since Jake clowned him at Nassau? Mercedes/Okada/Private Party segment was tremendous! Tremendous! Okada's brand of comedy is sensational. The Mariah May promo totally hit the mark. I hope Max was watching - that's how you do low hanging fruit. The GYV promos were certainly a snafu, but just fine nonetheless. I wonder if this spot was initially for The MCMGs. It may not have been the match he exactly needed, but Ricochet v Kyle was a strong quarter hour. No complaints. Ric is not the first ex-TItan Sports contracted talent to need some time to adjust. 'Ohh, Cry Me A River!' Bring on Danielson v Jack Perry in Chicago. And just like that All Out is ready to go! AEDub! 1

I'm fine with the Perry match, but I agree with all of this. Ricky Starks would've been a fantastic first defense, given that the crowd has always been behind him and they had that Strap Match of Doom already. If Tony hadn't cooled off Takeshita, that would've been a good call. Probably more of a TV match, buuuut I remember when the TNT title was floundering and Takeshita came in and the crowd was absolutely ready for the rocket to get strapped to him. He was a perfect candidate for the belt and it would've been something really, really fresh. Now, not so much. Orange Cassidy would've been great. Dude can take a loss, no sweat. If the House of Black wasn't lost in the ether right now, Brody King would totally suffice. I get that there's history/story reasons for Jack Perry getting the match, but like username said, he's gotten a lot of opportunities that should've been given to other people. 2
Curt McGirt Posted August 30, 2024 Posted August 30, 2024 DYNAMITE - The Ishii/Hangman match was maybe the best match either of them have had for awhile. The apron DDT spot was a beautiful piece of wrestling magic where you have no idea how the recipient is doing a hand-stand. And it was REALLY hard-hitting, which a lot of Ishii matches haven't felt like recently. Swerve was typically great on the mic. - I don't remember Hayter at all, it's been so long. As already spoken about Saraya is now useless despite any talent at shit-talking from the apron. Her adherence to bad heat has just nixed her -- probably because she believes that shit. Match was pretty nothing. - Garcia's the fucking man. Skipped the eight-man because... well, I'm just tired of it. - I swear a young sorority pledge in the audience yelled at Mariah "CUM SUCKING WHORE!" I listened to it back like five or six times, and it absolutely happened... probably because her insults were too on the nose, as she'll be at Kam's puking on the floor tomorrow night. Welcome to Champaign, young lady! Get that practice in! (There are so many ways Mariah could have went with those insults and that was just fine, so I give her a solid A. It's a college town, after all.) - If we do get STOP THE MOXLEY with Marina also running roughshod over the women's division, cool. I'm pretty much down for whatever he wants to do. - Boy, Jack showing up on the tron was a wet fart. He got some heat for jumping Danielson but that was probably only because it was Danielson. The kid is fine, he could use the rub to try and get him over more, but this wasn't a good look. I'm glad I didn't go really. Aside from the opener and some moving-forward stuff there wasn't much to the card. Mariah is gonna have my heart forever though, and not because of her taking off a robe. 1
Curt McGirt Posted August 30, 2024 Posted August 30, 2024 Didn't watch the Ricochet match either because I trust your taste. If it isn't at least Prince Puma then I can pass.
