Uh oh!   I'll bet that's a problem!   Brie can't use her legally trademarked WWE name to promote her new nursing job!  😞

Enjoy your America Kicked England's Ass week!

Dy no mite! 6/28

Dang! That week went pretty quickly.

We hear from Bungle Joy, and also MJF and maybe Adam Cole,  plus they gonna announce more Lethal Lottery teams.

Curious what's next after 90210mygawd, but in my opinion, Jungle is better at fighting, riding dinosaurs, and being handsome than at talking into a mic in a wrestling ring on TV. Maybe Hook will run in, very quickly, to get revenge?

I am legitimately curious what other teams we might get (will there be more whacky mismatched partners?) and also I somehow enjoyed Cole & Friedman together more than I generally enjoy either of them individually. Synergy!

Ruby vs Britt in a first-round Owen match

Wasn't this the finals match-up last time? I think I was way more into both of these wrestlers a year ago. I am kind of resigned to there being a sports entertainment finish to this one. It would be cool if Hayter (or, say, Shida, or someone else I still really like watching) ran in to counter the INEVITABLE Saraya Storm interference. Any word on Hayter's recovery? Take all the time you need, Jamie... but we REALLY miss you!

Sting & Darby vs Jericho & Sammy

Here's hoping Sting looks better in this than he did in the FD 6-man. Also here's hoping the bulk of this is Darby vs Sammy. Milk that Sting/Jericho face-down pop!

Mox vs Ishii!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Kind of hard to believe that their G1 Korakuen Hall minor masterpiece was ALMOST FOUR YEARS AGO! They match up really well. This should be great. Mox gonna go over, considering Ishii got the pin at the PPV and presumably someone has to take that win back. But who gives a shit? Sometimes the journey is WAY more important than the destination.

Here's hoping there will be at least one more post-Door NJPW vs AEW match on the card! I'm pretty sure only three matches have been announced. But when one of those matches is The Titty Master vs Stone Pitbull, you really don't need to announce anything else.

I think near the start of AEW I said that Jungle Boy would make for a great heel down the line if he turned heel on someone and then came out with his hair cut and wearing a suit or something. I still wouldn't mind it if he cut his hair to really go all the way with his heel turn and just acted more like an entitled Hollywood child prick (even though his dad was always ultra chill and didn't raise his kids to be pricks).

He also needs to change up his gear. Don't want to be Ricky Morton in the York Foundation still wearing his RnR Express gear.

If Jack Perry goes full Hollywood, the next logical step is to have an agent as a manager. If only, if only AEW had someone *COUGH*stokely*COUGH* on their roster who could be that agent.

Just don't stick him with Sterling.

I like Sterling quite a bit, but I've got to agree here. Perry's gotta be a full on Hollywood brat like you said, it can't be the standard, old-school 'delusional heel' fare of someone like a Sterling or a QT. It needs someone with a little more 'Entourage' in the DNA, and I agree - Stoke would probably be the best candidate.

Moving a step further: perhaps Perry falls prey to the fast-talking ways of Don Callis? Even temporarily, that might be a fun excuse to get a couple of Takeshita/Perry team-ups against the Bucks (Or alternately, Hangman/Omega, and you can hype that this is the first time they've teamed since losing the titles...)

I'm sure he could do a slicked back ponytail and pull off the entitled douchy Hollywood heel really well.

I think we all know where this should go

Just felt all of my bones creak at the same time, stop it.

I presume they worked against each other in Chikara at least once.

It will never not be weird to me that the most "pro wrestling is my life and I take this stuff very seriously" guy this side of Dax Harwood came up in Chikara.

I need to watch some Chikara, but I would also need about 4 more hours in my days

I flirted with it some, but whatever that angle/ARG was where they pretended to shut down/change their name/hide assets from someone's wife/whatever the fuck, kinda turned me off (though I recall reading lots of great WRESTLING IS ___ jokes here, so it wasn't a total wash)

Edit: apropos of nothing, while we're talking Chikara, let me be the millionth person to say I'm surprised AEW hasn't run a King of Trios-style tourney yet. Even if it was sort of non-TV content like the empty arena ladies tournament they did over in Japan during the pandemic (though with Dark/Elevation getting the boot i'm not sure if there's some kinda exclusivity language with WBD - no reason 'ROH' couldn't do it, I suppose)

Are you saying you want AEW to do a tournament in back to back nights? Or an annual tournament? Because if it’s neither of those conditions, AEW already filled the trios tournament desire last year.

See BTS from a couple weeks ago detailing the Chikara showdown with @mushroomjones as the guest.

I would encourage anyone to watch Kingston murderize Tim Donst and Shane Storm.

I actually talked to Bryce about the Chikara shutdown last night! It was a really ambitious storyline, had nothing to do with Quack's divorce or anything like that.

Sorry, I should have been clearer - I meant in so far as some of the weirder teams that have been put together, not necessarily the full time trios they've currently got. Like, I remember reading years ago about one that had X-Pac as 123 Kid tagging with the Bucks against like Tatanka or One Man Gang and another team (I've probably/definitely got these names wrong, but just to illustrate the sort of thing I mean). I guess there's potential for some of those kinds of teams in the BattleBowl thing going on to kinda scratch that 'wtf?' itch

My bad! It's been a while, I shouldn't have included the 'rumors and innuendo'

Don CALLIS said on Jericho’s podcast he was looking to add more family members, and on the podcast I found him to be a rational man with well reasoned arguments
