odessasteps Posted June 27, 2020 Posted June 27, 2020 I wonder just how many wrestlers León has worked against.
BrianS81177 Posted June 27, 2020 Posted June 27, 2020 He worked with FMW for a year or two. Off the top of my head I know he had singles matches with Onita and Tarzan Goto, but other than that I'm not sure how many others he had.

Cagematch lists at least 32 matches for Leon Spinks, all but two for FMW (he had the different style fight with Inoki in 1986, and he apparently had a match with Jerry Lawler in 1990). YT had a match of his against Mr. Gannosuke (not good) ... Cagematch also says, in addition to the Funk bout, he had a match against Sabu in 1993.
BrianS81177 Posted June 27, 2020 Posted June 27, 2020 Jesus that Savu match must have been a clusterfuck

Plans can be overrated. Let the rest of the matches/day on the card/week go as planned. The one that goes south can make everything else better. - cf. Norman Spinrad, RAF 1

Curt McGirt Posted June 28, 2020 Posted June 28, 2020 Don't even tease us. If there's a Finlay/Hansen or Finlay/Funk match out there I will sacrifice a digit to see it. 2

Curt McGirt Posted June 28, 2020 Posted June 28, 2020 That's probably the only one we'd be able to find 1

No dice, looks like he only wrestled one match in CWA, against Steve Casey, who I've never heard of. But the card does look pretty fire: Singles Match Hiro Yamamoto defeats Alex Wright Singles Match Papa Shango defeats Ulf Hermann [Runde 4] Falls Count Anywhere Match Tony St. Clair defeats Terry Funk [Runde 6] [Recommended] CWA Intercontinental Title Match Fit Finlay (c) vs. Jushin Thunder Liger - Time Limit Draw [Runde 10] CWA Mittelgewicht Title Match Franz Schuhmann (c) defeats Reno Riggins [Runde 7] CWA World Heavyweight Title Match #1 Contendership Match Lord Steven Casey defeats Stan Hansen by DQ [Runde 6] CWA World Heavyweight Title Match Rambo (c) defeats The Barbarian [Runde 6] 1 1
Curt McGirt Posted June 28, 2020 Posted June 28, 2020 Throwing Liger in the jackpot there is a wet dream of match possibilities. Tony St. Clair, too.
Zimbra Posted June 28, 2020 Posted June 28, 2020 Oh damn, Finlay/Liger is on youtube. Gotta watch that tomorrow. 1
Curt McGirt Posted June 28, 2020 Posted June 28, 2020 For later. Be forewarned, strobes at the very start so for you seizure-prone, might wanna skip ahead.

I remember the Japanese mags going gaga for this show because of the talent and because they had NJPW, AJPW and WWF representarion on the same card.
