MMMMM-Good!!! The Food Thread Returns

There's a few McDonald's that are attached to BP stations.  Not any near me but if I do Doordash delivery to get some extra coin I end up having to go to Edgewood.  The one wasn't that bad but the other was very much "Chaos McDonalds" and if I see a delivery from there I decline it ratings be damned.

That's the only fast food restaurant attached to a gas station that I know of in Madison, it's kind of weird artifact since it's at a park-and-ride/bus depot that used to be kinda outside of town but Madison has grown around it.  We also have a Chaos Burger King but that's just fucked up on its own.

Weirdly both the best gyro place and best shawarma place in Madison are in gas stations.

I've seen just about all the big chains attached to gas stations: BK, McDonald's, Subway, KFC, Taco Bell. I don't think I have found a Wendy's yet. In the Toledo area we have a small chain called Crispy Crunchy Chicken that's getting added to a lot.

I like the small towns here that have their diner attached to the gas station. Nothing like grabbing a burger, a beer, live bait and your scratch off while you fill your tank.

There's a Wendy's connected to a gas station off I-64, exit 25 in Indiana. It's our regular half-way meeting place when we meet up with my parents to drop off our kids with them.

Hey Mike, you tried the Tiger Sauce yet? I just looked at the display and that stood out. Didnt know there were so many brand names, that might be the entire display matter of fact, I thought they'd be Great Value creations.

I was just about to shout out the McD’s/BP in Gaithersburg!  Out in the low rent part of town by the airpark.

Within walking distance of my job is a Shell station with a full serve Dunkin’ Donuts inside.  It used to also have a USPS counter.  Wild.

Re: the gas stations, Casey's of course has their pizza. It's not bad the one time we had it out of state, but we tried several times here and they were so slow we canceled our orders both times.

My dad LOVES him some Casey's pizza. It is surprisingly good for a gas station.

Their breakfast pizza is pretty amazing, IMO.

When I was in Indiana, everyone talked about Casey's breakfast pizza and a place called Pizza King. I had to go back to Indiana for a week while some paperwork got sorted out and tried Pizza King. It was fairly good. Casey's is still on my list.

I'm not an experienced coffee drinker. I just started last summer and all you can get in rehab and other places is instant. I just got a drip machine the other day and I'm looking for suggestions from you guys for favorite brands of grounds. So far I've had a Great Value triple chocolate that wasn't bad and I grabbed some of Bob Evan's Breakfast Blend from work. I'm thinking I like a medium to dark roast. I usually add a little sugar but for the chocolate I added raspberry hot cocoa and woah it was good.

I was let down by Pizza King. May have just been over-hyped to me. "Fairly good" is a good description. Just nothing special, IMO.

There's a pub near where my late great Mum is buried. The pub is just under new ownership and started doing loaded fries a few weeks ago. Timed it right today as it was the last day of the Ruby Murray special curry loaded fries and man they hit the spot. So fresh and such a big portion for £7. Will be back to try the others.

Casey's also has great subs and sammies.

Driving down I-69 I kept seeing a sign for Bucc-ee's(290+ miles away). I did some Googling and it's in Richmond, Kentucky(a bit south of Lexington) and it might be worth a road trip just for Schmidts and Giggles.
Also a Wawa is supposed to be built in Jeffersonville, Indiana(jut north of Louisville) and that could be another road trip.

As mentioned here in the past, Wawa has expanded to at Florida and Alabama in the south.

this also comes as a slurpee

I bought a bottle of the pop. It was exactly as advertised. Just imagine chewing up an Oreo and taking a swig of coke. One drink was enough for me. However! The new VooDew flavor of mountain dew is awesome and makes quitting pop entirely so hard.

I hope this year's Voodoo than the last year or two.  We eventually found what it was supposed to be but the flavor just wasn't working for us.

As for the Oreo x Coke collab it sounds amazing yet simply consolidates what has been many a time in our lives.  I'm looking forward to trying both the soda and cookie to see how they are.
