Godfrey Posted March 14 Posted March 14 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=foDlrFVr2vc&ab_channel=jsg_games A random ep of Crockett's WCW from '87. There is nothing spectacular about it but it struck me watching just how slooooooowwwww paced modern wrestling shows can be in comparison. 7 minutes into this show and they've had promos from Barry Windham, the Road Warriors, and Jim Cornette plus a squash by Ole Anderson and another one getting in the ring for the Midnight Express. A real thrill a minute 1
Cobra Commander Posted March 14 Posted March 14 Yeah the thing about the Crash TV concept that Russo talks up in regard to 1998 WWF TV is that JCP did a show where they would have multiple things happening in a segment and it wasn’t stupid either. It was Old School Crash TV WWE Vault posted a Flair/Kerry match from Barcelona in 1991. Not sure if this is new or if it’s good: https://youtu.be/CL3RFWs_LI4 1
DragonZombie Posted March 14 Posted March 14 There was an Australian promotion named WCW. From 1964 to 1978, which was owned by Jim Barnett. Then there was "World Championship Wrestling", the Georgia Championship Wrestling TV show in the 1980s . Then WCW formed in 1988, as World Championship Wrestling, Inc. There is the active WCW, Inc. That WWF/E created to contain the WCW stuff they purchased. They didn't get everything. World Championship Wrestling, Inc. was renamed back to Universal Wrestling Corporation (also the original name in 1988) in 2001 after selling lot of the WCW assets and more to WWF. Universal Wrestling Corporation went defunct on Dec 16, 2017. The actual real death date of the former original WCW subsidiary.

This also explains why the unreleased NES game was called UWC. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/UWC_(video_game) 1
Cobra Commander Posted March 15 Posted March 15 Wrestlefest 92 is on YouTube as the Vault guy keeps uploading all the 1991/92 Coliseum home videos onto the web: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=S2ZFpR5BZnk 1
The Green Meanie Posted March 15 Posted March 15 I'm NEVER going to complain about more Sean Mooney/Lord Alfred Hayes/Gene Okerlund/Bobby Heenan.
Cobra Commander Posted March 16 Posted March 16 the WCW YouTube just streamed another week of World Championship Wrestling (11/9/85): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6baE2YfS8TA nothing like the fun of Tully being such a hated asshole that even when he's in the right, like when TA kisses BabyDoll, you still hate Tully for it

Ric Flair doing the Tommy Young shove spot with the no-longer-evil Danny Davis EDIT2: Ric Flair essentially doing a springboard splash where he makes the cover with his feet on the ropes is a fun looking spot to set up the "Flair wins by cheating" finish Edited March 16 by Cobra Commander
DragonZombie Posted March 16 Posted March 16 The original ECW went bankrupt. Then revived as a stable in WWF during 2001, which allied with WCW. Then it died again. Then it was revived again as shows under WWE and became a brand, then the brand became defunct. So 3 ECWs. I found this https://groups.google.com/g/alt.pro-wrestling.ecw/c/zJ6L-Q_eJVI 1
Cobra Commander Posted March 17 Posted March 17 Vault posting Bret/Sid in the cage from Raw without the Bret tirade at the end: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=o__-cSaEz_M you can tell it was an urgent situation since the Undertaker didn't have time to do his full entrance to run in
Cobra Commander Posted March 17 Posted March 17 underrated part of the Austin/Dude Love match from OTE 98? Foley doing a backslide on the entrance way during the brawl around the cars link here:
Mister TV Posted March 18 Posted March 18 I think this has the chair shot where Foley knocked Vince’s fillings out.
hammerva Posted March 18 Posted March 18 The new WWE Vault features the best Wrestlemania hype videos. These have all the greatest hits like Limp Bizkit My Way, the Miz "You can Hate me now", and "Monster" for Daniel Bryan. A few stinkers as I have no remembrance of the Reigns vs Taker one. With the original music still in it https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NSMStqXxhS8 2

NikoBaltimore Posted March 19 Posted March 19 Three things: I get why Natural and others love the "Monster" video for Daniel Bryan. But I just find Imagine Dragons so fucking bland that this just doesn't resonate with me. Sorry. The Miz "Hate me now" video might hits so fucking hard I might like it over "My Way". After a quick thought I think I do. Also, it's funny thinking about Limp Bizkit being the unofficial official soundtrack to Austin and Rock's feud yet it works really well. This compilation is invalid without the "Running up that hill" video. Redundant to post the link, yes, but if you're gonna watch this might as well this too. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EC7V-ayjorg All in all a pretty good compilation. 1
Cobra Commander Posted March 19 Posted March 19 on checking YouTube, I didn't realize that "Monster" by Meg Myers ( https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GVQqZg5BisE ) was out in 2011, so that's the 2010s "Monster" song that I'm more familiar with than the ID song But yeah, Imagine Dragons was a bit more popular than Meg Myers in the 2010s
Cobra Commander Posted March 20 Posted March 20 wondering if the WCW YouTube will unleash the Doomsday Cage match after they posted Uncensored 95 and also posted a separate video for the King of the Road match
Mister TV Posted March 22 Posted March 22 The WWE Vault just posted a March 1993 WCW House Show from Manchester, England, it’s been a fun watch so far. 1
Cobra Commander Posted March 22 Posted March 22 (edited) Excited to find out what sort of crazy things (if any) Foley was doing on house shows with Vader in 1993 https://youtu.be/2mykcQhMIcM?si=Jq24KoB-Ab9Uv3Bd The card: Johnny B Badd vs Scotty Flamingo, Maxx Payne vs Michael Hayes, Rick Rude/Barry Windham vs Van Hammer/Dustin, Davey Boy vs Vinnie Vegas, Vader vs Cactus, and Sting vs Orndorff edit: Spoiler Oh yes, this is during the time that Sting was the champ for this tour before he lost the title back to Vader at the end.. would hope either of those shows were recorded, or at least the title matches Love that we have a videotaped version of a Gary Michael Cappetta prematch spiel Badd/Flamingo was a fun little opener Hayes isn't technically working in stripper boots, but he kinda is Van Hammer looking more Glam Rock than Heavy Metal tonight. No Dustin or Windham in the match though Johnny B. Badd gets an award and we go to intermission, as if we weren't already at an intermission Nash as Vinnie Vegas might be underrated. He's just showing the charisma that really he didn't show a lot of before this run, or really for a few years as Diesel well, I can *guess* why that Vader Slam Jam theme wasn't widely used Vader vs Cactus is a great pairing since Vader didn't mind hitting guys really hard and Cactus didn't mind getting brain damage Harley's 49 during this match, not 50 for another few weeks, and he's taking bumps and looking like he's a high school coaching legend who works kids until they have heat strokes It might have telegraphed the spot a tad but I love how Vader was giving off body language of "I'm gonna buttdrop this guy" before missing a buttdrop on a sunset flip spot Okay, the elevated platform at ringside does take away some options for crazy shit Cactus could do to hurt himself Edited March 22 by Cobra Commander 1

matwarz Posted March 22 Posted March 22 Fun fact, that fan cam was filmed by either Robbie Brookside or Doc Dean as they were collecting footage for the infamous episode of ‘Video Diaries’ for the BBC 3
Cobra Commander Posted March 22 Posted March 22 Sting lost the title to Vader in Ireland on St. Patrick's Day around the time that Vader was aligned with the evil midget Cheatum and yet they did not connect the two (which was probably a good idea)
Curt McGirt Posted March 23 Posted March 23 Poor Rick, getting matched up with Van Hammer instead of the three superworkers telling him "just stay on the tag rope". That wasn't a miracle match like Rude/Warrior I presume.
Cobra Commander Posted March 23 Posted March 23 at the risk of sounding really down on the Warlord, but I think Davey Boy probably had an easier time working a Warlord match with Vinnie Vegas in 1993 than with The Warlord in 1991 1
