2013: UPCOMING MOVIES/CASTING/RUMORS/ETC

Olympus Has Fallen is getting a sequel that is being set in London

Gerard Butler, Aaron Eckhart, Morgan Freeman, and Angela Bassett are apparently all back.

Antoine Fuqua is not

It's FilmDistrict's highest grossing film so far, taking $161 million worldwide.  Not surprising that they would go for a sequel.  As long as they keep production costs low, it should do fine.

Oh, and they MUST get one line of London Bridge is Falling Down in the trailer or no sale!

Speaking of other movies that are getting sequels because they did surprisingly well - there will a Best Exotic Marigold Hotel 2

The original did $136 million worldwide on only a $10 million budget

So... umm... WHAT THE FUCK

Why would think releasing the crazy person trapped in barb wire was a good idea?

Same reason the people in Paranormal Activity movies think filming and constantly provoking a demon is a better idea than, you know, getting the fuck out of there.

That actually led to me to consider the idea of a movie in which the demon is provoked and attacks, but it's Mark Henry's cousin, and he calls Mark in. What follows is demon ass whuppery on a scale God could not even fathom.

Make you own Paranormal Activity movie!

X finds themselves being haunted by a mysterious force

Doors slam shut mysteriously, things get moved around and no one ever gets a good night's sleep

X enlists Y to help them get to the bottom of things

X and Y film everything, then spend hours rewinding and re-watching the footage which is no help whatsoever

As the movie ends we do finally get to see something interesting--and then we quickly cut to the credits so the producers can drag this storyline out even more.

To be slightly fair to the Paranormal Activity franchise, the first movie does spell out pretty clearly that the demon is attached to the woman, not the house, and getting the fuck out won't solve anything.

That said, PUT THE GODDAMN CAMERA DOWN ASSHOLES.

Still, hanging around the house and not going to a hotel, where at least there are other people around, is pretty dumb.

Anyway, how many movies before we get Paranormal Activity...In Space?

5 is already shot, and we have the spin-off one coming out before it in the "horror movies that weren't good enough to release in October" January slot, so at least 2 more.  They could go to Da Hood first, though.

Isn't the Marked Ones actually In Da Hood?

Also, even though Insidious crapped the bed in the last 10 minutes, I LOVED that before shit even got too crazy they were like "We're moving."

That movie wet the bed SO DAMN BAD in the last 20 minutes.  That incredible buildup in the first hour, shot to hell.  What a waste of a good movie up to that point.
