Territorial Posted September 10, 2013 Posted September 10, 2013 Am I the only one who hates the "custom DVD box" trend? I'll probably buy the set, but a standard box would be preferable. The idea of a DVD case shaped and made to look like a barrel is a bit too cheesy for my tastes.
SovietShooter Posted September 10, 2013 Posted September 10, 2013 Also have they intentionally not had Jesse tell Hank about the boy Todd killed during the train robbery? That's really what sent Jesse down this path no?I want to say at some point in the last episode that it was mentioned in a conversation between Hank & Gomez, but they used the boy's name.
ultimoDANK Posted September 10, 2013 Posted September 10, 2013 I think they were talking about Brock. I'm pretty sure Jesse hasn't mentioned the kid in the desert due to his involvement. That's definitely where Jesse loses his smile so to speak. Mike was the final straw and the realization that Walt will kill anyone. The fancy DVD set looks pretty cool but I gotta agree with the other poster. Where in my house do I put that thing?
madsplash Posted September 10, 2013 Posted September 10, 2013 You Bury It In The Desert. Obviously. 1
EVA Posted September 10, 2013 Posted September 10, 2013 Fuck. I hate it when I feel like I'm being punished for being a big fan of something. I already have all the blu-rays.
The Damn Yeti Posted September 10, 2013 Posted September 10, 2013 The only one that I have thought was awesome is the Dexter blood slide set, but fuck owning the whole series of Dexter, and really, fuck having giant novelty boxes for your media.
Tromatagon Posted September 11, 2013 Posted September 11, 2013 There's a set of blood slide coasters in a similar box. Boom
_MJ_ Posted September 11, 2013 Posted September 11, 2013 I know this isn't the Dexter thread, but its final season is just getting buried beneath all the Breaking Bad episodes, news, and etc. Barely keeping up with it through recaps/spoilers. Tough break.
Fat Spanish Waiter Posted September 11, 2013 Posted September 11, 2013 because it's dogshit, let's leave it in the other thread. 1
CSC Posted September 11, 2013 Posted September 11, 2013 So I got sick and tired of being behind on this show (and I knew, at some point, something was going to get spoiled and I'd be pissed off), so last week I put in for two vacation days this week and I've blown through all of season 4, the first part of season five and just today I got caught up. Holy shit, I'm exhausted. 2
EVA Posted September 11, 2013 Posted September 11, 2013 The BETTER CALL SAUL spin-off is offically a go. Kinda figured AMC would go in for it, what with THE KILLING cancelled again and LOW WINTER SUN dying a slow, miserable death. This time next year, they were set to have no shows with any cache beyond THE WALKING DEAD. Picking this spin-off up was a no-brainer. Now we'll see if they can make it work.

Randy Posted September 11, 2013 Posted September 11, 2013 Speaking of, Bob Odenkirk and David Cross are going to be on The Daily Show tonight.
Territorial Posted September 11, 2013 Posted September 11, 2013 I'm hard pressed to think of a situation where I think it would be better to call Saul. If calling Saul is a good move, you're into some bad stuff that might warrant rethinking your life choices. Oh,and the shit is piled so high around you that the light bulb in the ceiling is covered in the stuff.
Petey Posted September 11, 2013 Posted September 11, 2013 But Saul is widely viewed as a lawyer willing to work for lower income people. They don't always have issues that make them criminals. I've always thought of him as someone who would handle BS cases like you'd see on Judge Judy or something. Of course Saul makes the big money by working with seedy people, but the majority of his clients probably aren't seedy. 1
EVA Posted September 12, 2013 Posted September 12, 2013 Better yet: The spin-off is confirmed to be a prequel. So if we're good boys and girls, we might wake up one Christmas morning with GUS and MIKE in our stockings. 1

Better Call Saul aka "Vince Gilligan Trying His Damndest to Get Giancarlo Esposito That Emmy He Should Have Gotten in 2012". 2
offspring515 Posted September 12, 2013 Posted September 12, 2013 On one hand I'm interested in seeing what they do with this show, and I've really liked Odenkirk's performance on Breaking Bad. He's a scene stealer for sure. On the other I don't see that character carrying a show. I suppose since it's a prequel we may well have some characters we've never met before helping to round out the cast. I kinda hope Huell is in it, I've grown a soft spot for that big lug.
Craig H Posted September 12, 2013 Posted September 12, 2013 Sadly, there's no way Skinny Pete and Badger get involved. Get those two motherfuckers a spin-off show too. Jesus, they blow Harold and Kumar out of the water as for as druggie comedy duos go.
bink_winkleman Posted September 12, 2013 Posted September 12, 2013 So stoked for Better Call Saul. A show about a sleazy lawyer is so long overdue, regardless. (cue twenty people pointing out some past show I've never heard of)
jstout Posted September 12, 2013 Posted September 12, 2013 Odenkirk was on The Daily Show tonight with David Cross, and I didn't recognize him without Saul's stringy combover. The prequel would seem kinda weird without Huell and Kuby.
Craig H Posted September 12, 2013 Posted September 12, 2013 Forgot about them too, which is great because it means more work for Bill Burr and Lavell Crawford. Jesus, the cast of characters that Saul brings with him is incredible. Hopefully Better Call Saul trends towards being more of a comedy that a dark comedy or drama. I also look forward to courtroom shenanigans.
Execproducer Posted September 12, 2013 Posted September 12, 2013 Wait, am I the only one who wants to see Walt get his comeuppance? No.
JRGoldman Posted September 12, 2013 Posted September 12, 2013 I would be really psyched if Better Call Saul was just a straight legal procedural, with like line for line rip offs of Sam Waterston closing arguments from early Law and Order episodes.
