2024 UPCOMING MOVIE DISCUSSION

As dumb as it sounds, a movie dealing with dealers trying to cope in a world of legal weed is not a bad idea. Now, is it a good idea for Jay and Silent Bob? Maybe not.

He posted an image of a prop from the new one that’s a parody of the Necronomicon, so before the dispensary plot came out I was hoping it’d be Jay and Bob in a horror movie. I know they aren’t going to get an A-list franchise, but maybe Jay and Silent Bob Make a Wrong Turn or Jay and Silent Bob and Victor Crowley.

Based on the trailer and the premise, it's literally close to being Aniara.

I'm guessing that's where he shoots the new Jay and Silent Bob about them owning a dispensary (unless that was just a rumor I read on FB).

Jay & Silent Bob turned the video store into a dispensary after Clerks II.

The Saturday Night Live movie will no longer be called SNL 1975. It is now titled simply Saturday Night

It has been given a release date of Oct 11, 2024

SNL 1975 is so much better. Saturday Night is so generic, it could be about anything. A biopic about the Bay City Rollers, slice of life comedy about high school kids planning their weekend, mob movie about a hit that's going down, anything.

Depends where Kevin is in his cycle, was his last movie really good or complete shit?

I didn't realize New Jersey had legal weed, kind of surprised by that since they have such arcane laws when it comes to alcohol sales.

I am so goddamned wrestling-brained that I interpreted that as his steroid cycle and was horrified by the specter of Yoked Kevin Smith

Clerks III was okay, albeit very sad.

Spoiler

It's the end of Dante and Randall's story. Dante dies, being reunited with Becky, whose death (and their unborn child) in between films he never got over. Randall basically becomes Kevin Smith, making movies until he's 90. Elias replaces Dante as part-owner of the Quik-Stop.

If you haven't noticed he went on Penn gillete's all potato diet and really slimmed down after a near fatal heart attack

Yeah, I'd seen the weight loss and it's really impressive, even though it's still a shock to see him skinny.  I was worried he'd gone full Carrot Top when I wasn't paying attention.

Well, if he talks to a few wrestlers and get in touch with their doctors, he would be.

It makes sense. SNL wasn't even SNL in 1975. Saturday Night was the show's name.  Howard Cossell had a show on ABC called "Saturday Night Live".

I think I found Clerks 2 to be underwhelming, would you say part 3 is better or worse?

I genuinely like Clerks 2. It is better. IMO, Smith's best work will always be Dogma.

They overhauled a lot of the liquor laws at the beginning of the year to make it more business-friendly. Apparently they’d been about the same since prohibition was repealed.

I'm ready for a Bay City Rollers biopic!
