Dolfan in NYC
Phil usually details the proposed rule changes, but, you're stuck with me... 18 second pitch clock when runners are on base. (Down from 20) The runner's lane from home to 1st to expand by 6 inches. Total mound visits is now 4 (was 5). Team's will still get an extra visit starting in the 9th. If a pitcher warms up at the beginning of an inning on the mound, they must face a batter. The MLBPA has already said they'll vote against these, saying they're unnecessary. RIPPA
And the players on the committee did in fact vote against them - however the MLBPA agreed to this system where the owners have more representation on the committee than the players thus how they can always implement these rules changes now

RIPPA
A record 8 teams went over the luxury tax (the previous high was 2016 when 6 teams went over) Here are the teams are what they owe Mets: $100,781,932 Padres: $39.7MM Yankees: $32.4MM Dodgers: $19.4MM Phillies: $6.98MM Blue Jays: $5.5MM Braves: $3.2MM Rangers: $1.8MM The Mets broke two records Most over the cap and highest tax amount to pay (Both blew past the 2015 Dodgers) By most metrics - the 2022 team is now MLB's "biggest flop"

TimLivingston
It seems like the next domino to fall will be Bellinger: Kiermaier back to Toronto for 1/10.5, which means the Blue Jays will be dependent on two glove-first OFs who are LHHs, when they really need LH power. With the Jays seemingly out, you wonder if the Cubs just don’t bring Belli back. The Giants got Lee and seem like they wouldn’t go get Bellinger, but maybe they hedge and feel like Bellinger in CF and Lee in RF would be enough. And by enough? 84-78.
