No modern show really harnesses the energy of late 80s JCP World Championship Wrestling episodes where every midcard dude getting interview time would mention Dusty because he’s the Booker.

Then again, no show would try to have 25 interview segments in 2 hours. Even Russo-era didn’t do that.

Also, if Dusty or Ric aren't there and out of town working on a show for another promoter, I doubt the go to guy to kill time would be someone on the level of a Paul Jones.

Wind up JC and let him go.

After the 3rd Paul Jones appearance, you're praying for Jim Cornette, Cornette's dentist, Cornette's car mechanic. Anyone but Paul Jones.

Depending on the exact time, you have JC, Dillon, Arn, Tully, Manny, Garvin (either), Ellering/Roadies, Buddy, Bass, Ivan, Graham, and others who could easily kill time if need be.

I think a lot of times, unless it was Ric or Dusty or something immediately important like a hot angle, they wouldn't bring out an individual wrestler back to the desk a second time. It had to be a manager who had multiple people in his stable. So all those guys would have their time. Then, if Paul Jones Army for example was feuding with two or three people, they would let Paul Jones ramble during his scheduled time and then come back at least one more time (probably at the tail end) to cover the other folks his guys are feuding with. Cornette was talented enough to cover every guy his men were feuding with, run down Babydoll where appropriate, AND then end it by introducing the Midnight Express.

The good thing about Ric and Dusty on the 605 show, is the second guy would come out later and directly play off what the other guy had said earlier. Prob Dusty usually second since he was in the control room watching the whole show anyway.

You can see, especially in the last few years, Dusty would come out legit pissed about what Ric had said. Shit, rappers don't put out response diss tracks online as fast as Dusty would march his ass out there to address Ric.

In the category of Wrestlemania shows in England... which American promotion would run a show at Millwall's stadium and why would it be XPW (you might need to know a little about British football to truly appreciate that joke)

Took you lads a good while to remember that there is more than one City in England, innit?

Next European tour should include Quake by Lake Como. Angelico can dive off a balcony at George Clooney's villa.

Eh. Minnesota is practically Canada which is practically Europe.

Egypt just opened "New Administrative Capital Stadium" if they want the WWE to hold a show in New Administrative Capital, Egypt in a 94,940 seat stadium

Egypt is a bit underrepresented in real or kayfabe pro wrestlers

Would it be culturally insensitive to give the Ramses Nacho Libre gimmick to a real/fake Egyptian?

If KSA writes a big enough check, they would.

Could they? Yes. Will they? Probably no. And I don't even think WWE would want them to.

When it comes sportswashing, you probably have to look at it from multiple angles. Saudi Arabia could pretty own the sport of boxing (they're already halfway there without trying too hard), but they don't simply because the money seems to be ingenuity. Why try to spend A LOT on a singular event that someone will have the rights on the next year when you can have your own series of events you can run in perpetuity? The WWE can name something Wrestle Bonanza-a-thon, and it would have the same meaning to them as a WrestleMania. Moreover, WWE is not going to allow them to own the name and brand identity of WrestleMania. It's WWE IP. It also means the absolute most over here (in North America) even if one in the UK or Australia would sell out in minutes. It's too valuable to give up.

Boxing had to sell out to Saudi Arabia because they didn't have those IPs. They just have the fighters. If the fighters and marketing of the fighters can't sell tickets or PPV units, then they're SOL. If Don King in his heyday had the resources the current crop of boxing promoters have, he would have fucking constructed the boxing rings on top of the dead bodies. He didn't give a damn. Hell, he did it before Vince did cause two of his most famous shows were for Mobutu and Ferdinand Marcos. Hell, we even got the Soul Power concert out of the first one too. On the flip side, you got someone like an Al Haymon who operates in the shadows and is either waiting for a super big offer from KSA or just refuses to give up the flexibility that comes with keeping everything stateside. He can have his guys fight in Saudi Arabia or a show funded by KSA, but he hasn't done it outside Andy Ruiz rematching Anthony Joshua on a show promoted by someone else (Joshua's promoter Eddie Hearn). Haymon already has to two fights (Crawford vs. Spence and Canelo vs. Jermell Charlo) set up this year that are likely to sell north of a million PPV units at a PPV retail price of $84.99. That's over $200 million in PPV revenue alone cause I have Crawford vs. Spence conservatively estimated at 1.5 million buys. It may reach 2 million with the right promotion the week of the fight. For Al Haymon, it probably makes more sense to keep it here at T-Mobile Arena then take a giant flat fee, give up the rights probably in venue/sponsorship/TV money, and then be potentially negative impacted by the optics that comes from working with unscrupulous parties. It makes more sense to take the absolute sure bet instead of something that on the surface seems like a sure bet. IMO if the UK does get a WrestleMania, it won't be funded by KSA.

I'm not sure if the WWE fan demographic would travel in droves to Egypt.

(Me personally, I would definitely consider getting tickets if it could fit as part of a European/North African trip)

I would imagine they've been banned from the sport, what with their having performed the most illegal act in professional wrestling history.
