odessasteps Posted December 6, 2023 Posted December 6, 2023 We were discussing Poor Things the other day and it’s apparently out this week (not sure how wide).

We’re so into the ritual of it that sometimes when we do movie night at home we’ll hit the concession stand at AMC and bring it back to the house. I've thought about doing that. The Pickens at the theater is just better.

Not orange enough. Need to watch one of the earlier Fantastic Four movies to really get the skin tone right. 1
(BP) Posted December 6, 2023 Posted December 6, 2023 He looks like the drummer or bassist in an early aughts melodic hardcore band. 2
Contentious C Posted December 6, 2023 Posted December 6, 2023 I saw about 15 shows with basically That Guy as the bassist when I lived in Athens. And not all the same person playing for multiple bands, either.
RIPPA Posted December 7, 2023 Author Posted December 7, 2023 Good Grief Written and Directed by Dan Levy There are A LOT of... emotions (for lack of a better word) going on in this trailer so be prepared for that... unless you are a robot then continue on with your cursed metal body
Dolfan in NYC Posted December 7, 2023 Posted December 7, 2023 Jesus Christ. I'd better stock up on the Kleenex.
Curt McGirt Posted December 7, 2023 Posted December 7, 2023 Boy did that opening line about "muscle memory" get me after the year I've had.
odessasteps Posted December 7, 2023 Posted December 7, 2023 One of the Regals here has three different anniversary rereleases this week: Xmas Story, Die Hard and Love Actually
Swift Posted December 8, 2023 Posted December 8, 2023 The last movie I saw pre-Covid was the Jumanji film on New Years Eve with a bunch of us. And then the next was Tenet. The next after that was Shang Chi a year later but since then I think I've been to the cinema every month since, sometimes twice a month. I signed up for Cineplex's club membership last year so get a ticket every month. I love the theatre experience, though mostly I tend to go on weekday matinees when I have a day off work. The local second run theatre has started playing popular classics so that's fun. Watched Mary Poppins there last month.
Curt McGirt Posted December 9, 2023 Posted December 9, 2023 MAYHEM! (dir. Xavier Gens) January 5th This one is specifically for J.T. (oh and yeah, it's NSFW) 1

I signed up for an Arclight yearly membership about a week before the lockdowns started, thinking things weren't going to get as bad as they did. Arclight closed all its locations in 2021 (and I'm still pissed about it; not the money, but it was the best theater chain going, though Landmark isn't awful).
RIPPA Posted December 13, 2023 Author Posted December 13, 2023 Civil War Written and Directed by Alex Garland Kirsten Dunst, Wagner Moura, Stephen McKinley Henderson, and Cailee Spaeny (And obviously Nick Offerman at least cameos as the President)

Raziel Posted December 13, 2023 Posted December 13, 2023 I mean, Jessica was pregnant in part 1, so yeah, she has to be addressed. I mean, you can't exactly skimp out on her, especially if they're thinking of doing Messiah finally. 1

Curt McGirt Posted December 13, 2023 Posted December 13, 2023 Exactly. It's either gonna be incitement or warning. Probably both, actually. 1

Like everyone is laughing at this already purely because of that.
Dolfan in NYC Posted December 13, 2023 Posted December 13, 2023 Michael Mann is too straight for this... but here is the best trailer I've seen so far for Ferrari:

Really the fault lines would probably be the same ones as in the last Civil War. California itself might have a standoff in Orange County against the rest of the state...
odessasteps Posted December 14, 2023 Posted December 14, 2023 I’d think California could have irs own civil war between NoCal and SoCal. 1
RIPPA Posted December 14, 2023 Author Posted December 14, 2023 IF Written and Directed by John Krasinski who clearly called in a lot of favors to fill out the cast Since I took this from Ryan Reynolds YT channel - here is the blurb from there "Get ready for a heart-warming, all-family film from the director of A Quiet Place, the star of Deadpool, and the studio that brought you Annihilation"
RIPPA Posted December 14, 2023 Author Posted December 14, 2023 Beverly Hills Cop: Axel F I hate myself for how excited I am about this 5 1
