This is awfully late for there to be 9 undefeated teams (Bama, Michigan, Clemson, UW, WVU, Nebraska, Baylor, Boise, and West Michigan (#MACtion~!)).   But, hey, the playoffs shouldn't be 16 teams. These kids need to study!

Alright, before I get mad...

RANKINGZ~

Yeah, at most, 7 of those teams could finish undefeated.  And Western Michigan's schedule is so poor, they shouldn't even be in the discussion, undefeated or not.  Likewise, I think Boise would need Washington State to win the Pac-12 (which would eliminate Washington from the ranks of the undefeated, in the process) to merit legitimate consideration.

So really, we're talking about 5 teams at this point:  Alabama, Michigan/Nebraska winner, Clemson, Washington, Baylor/WVU winner.

And all of those teams still have other big challenges left on their schedule (Ohio State is in the way of both Mich and Neb).  Really, I feel like every October there's a big freakout over how many undefeated or 1-loss contenders there are, and, oh, how can our broken system accomodate them all?  And then every November, once the big rivalry games and conference championships come around, it all miraculously gets sorted out.

I'm rooting for complete and utter anarchy this year (actually, that's true of most years), so I'd be perfectly happy seeing every undefeated team lose, and quite a few one loss teams as well. Clemson might be the opening salvo for such a wish on Saturday.

Had us a grand old time at the Army game this past Saturday. Not the result we were looking for (Army got whipped by North Texas) and the weather was sub-optimal (rainy and cold for most of the proceedings), but the pageantry is truly second to none up there. We'll definitely be back next year, hopefully under a clear sky and warmer temps.

That's the USMA superintendent leading the Black Knights out on the loudest honking Harley we've ever heard.

What a view! The Cadets were a non-stop force for football good, making noise the whole game. Two of them actually stole the UNT cheerleaders' flag for one of the biggest pops of the game.

Worth pointing out:  Les Miles was fired after losing competitive games to Wisconsin and Auburn.  Perspective is a hell of a thing.  At the time, both of those teams were considered mediocre at best.  Now, both are ranked in the Top 15 by the AP...and Top 10 by all the advanced stats polls.

Ooops?

Gotta defend my alma mater a little here: yes , the schedule ain't great but. . . WMU is 2-0 against the B1G and #8 in the BCS computer rankings. I'll take it .

Western's QB also just threw his first interception of the season against (a surprisingly not terrible) Eastern Michigan.

The entire team didn't turn the ball over once the first half of the season. That's damn impressive on its own.

But they need some help to get that group of five money bowl spot, fair or not.

If every team but Western Michigan finishes with a loss; then, what do they do? Ignore them?

Winning the MAC doesn't make you uncrowned NCAA Champions. It barely makes you the favorite for the Carmelia Bowl.

I did not realize the National Carpet Cleaners Association crowned their own national collegiate football champion.

Well for along time they didn't, but with all the varieties of turf nowadays, they had to get in the game. . .

In the GIF above, did he step on the defender's hand and wouldn't that make him out of bounds? I have no context so I can't just look it up.

That's exactly right. Because he stepped on that dude's hand and didn't actually touch the ground out of bounds, he was still considered inbounds and able to recover enough to sidestep his way for the touchdown.

Ah I see. I bet that hurt though.

He's right.

" The National Commission for Certifying Agencies (NCCA) is the accrediting body of ICE,created in 1987 by ICE. NCCA accreditation standards set quality . "

See, totally different! I don't know what that is. I think they accredit professionals or something.

Given the absurd lengths that the NCAA go to in order to stop those kids getting paid, I'd imagine they want no part of an agency that accredits any kind of professional.

Holy shit, Sparty blowing the pitch on the 2 pt conversion so Peppers can run it back the other way on the last play of the game is kind of sweet revenge for last year.  Not quite as deadly, but still fun.
