Dolfan in NYC Posted May 29, 2024 Posted May 29, 2024 Looks like those nefarious Young Bucks, the evil Jack Perry, and the their shoe salesman Kazuchika Okada were victorious in the Anarchy match! Also, of course, we have to acknowledge the world's most obvious turn. Let's turn to Stokely for an explanation: But no time to think about any of that now, because what's that I hear? I got your picture... of me and you! You wrote "I love you..." I wrote "you too." It sounds like a portal is opening... and on the other side, it's EVIL! (And maybe some other people too!) You've got me turning up and turning down and turning in and turning 'round! That's right we're beginning to build to Forbidden Door 2024! Let's see what happens as we all are... I really think so! Enjoy the start of summer! 1 3
RazorbladeKiss87 Posted May 29, 2024 Posted May 29, 2024 (edited) I'm disappointed Willow lost the title but it gets her away from Mercedes, which is good. Hopefully Willow and Stat get a chance to have a real hate filled brawl as I think that will be better than their last match was. I'm hoping Forbidden Door is more CMLL than NJPW, even though I know that's foolish. I'd prefer not to have HoT stuff bleed over. Edit: And of course I just remembered the visa issues with CMLL guys so that sucks. Edited May 29, 2024 by RazorbladeKiss87 3

Some of the CMLL guys are starting to be advertised for shows in the US, so the assumption is the issues are being worked out. For instance, quite a few CMLL guys have been appearing on MLW tapings, so they could pop up in AEW. Also, CMLL sent out a tweet on Tuesday, strongly hinting at a few folks turning upon AEW on Wednesday: 4
Curt McGirt Posted May 29, 2024 Posted May 29, 2024 You won't believe what the misinterpretation of "Turning Japanese" is. I always thought it was about masturbation but it's even dumber, and more racist. Anyway. Hechicero. Give us Hechicero. 3
Gordi the BJW fan Posted May 29, 2024 Posted May 29, 2024 (edited) Far as I can tell the Casino Gauntlet match is the only thing announced for Dynamite. I kind of hope it goes the full two hours. I think they could easily go 50 entrants if they really wanted to. Edit: Consarn it! Jon Moxley vs. Rocky Romero – IWGP World Heavyweight Championship Eliminator Match Swerve Strickland vs. Killswitch Casino Gauntlet Match for shot at AEW World Title at Forbidden Door Mercedes Mone TBS Championship celebration Debut of “TV Time” with Chris Jericho Don Callis to present a contract Kris Statlander and Stokely Hathaway to explain attack on Willow Nightingale at Double or Nothing 3 matches and 4 blahblahblah segments! At least Mox vs Rocky will be as fun as a foregone conclusion match can be, most likely. Edited May 29, 2024 by Gordi the former AEW fan 1

Curt McGirt Posted May 29, 2024 Posted May 29, 2024 Can Mox bleed because he's held back for a couple matches? There has to be something on this show for me. 1

I remember working at a restaurant in 93 and this song came on and the guy I worked with (RIP) waxed poetic about the masturbation interpretation. 1
RazorbladeKiss87 Posted May 29, 2024 Posted May 29, 2024 This was really the only way to turn Stokely heel for me so good job TK.
Zimbra Posted May 29, 2024 Posted May 29, 2024 I feel like Stoke is one of those guys who can just seamlessly transition from face to heel and back without much effort. 3
John from Cincinnati Posted May 29, 2024 Posted May 29, 2024 Gonna need some A+ participants and interactions in the gauntlet, because this lineup is rough.

Go2Sleep Posted May 29, 2024 Posted May 29, 2024 Jericho doing what I assume is a talk show segment literally named "TV Time" could be fun if they keep it under 5 minutes. Hopefully the first guest is Bryan Keith, because Jericho vortex or not, I'm glad he finally has something to do. The Gauntlet and Mercedes promo seem ripe for surprises, so hopefully there's some good sports entertainment on this show.
Sex Machine Gun Posted May 29, 2024 Posted May 29, 2024 Well he did the "music playing him off" thing once before, maybe that's how it ends as he goes "that's TV Time, everyone! Enjoy the rest of the show!" Meanwhile, a babyface who barely got to speak is left high and dry.

Cobra Commander Posted May 30, 2024 Posted May 30, 2024 missed the first half hour because I forgot the show was on so anyways.. Jericho has a segment, we have more feuding EVPs, we're getting Ospreay vs Swerve, and MJF is back next week but not this week
The Natural Posted May 30, 2024 Posted May 30, 2024 Didn't expect Swerve Strickland vs. Will Ospreay for the AEW World Championship at AEW x NJPW Forbidden Door. Thought it would be saved for the first time at AEW All In. 1

tbarrie Posted May 30, 2024 Posted May 30, 2024 I know a lot of people had problems with the Swerve Stomp, but I'm not sure promoting the Goofy Little Kick to the position of Swerve's primary finisher was the answer. 2
NikoBaltimore Posted May 30, 2024 Posted May 30, 2024 (edited) Quick story but as a kid while video games were fun I thoroughly enjoyed playing with all the figures I had at the time. Sometimes there'd be regular matches but when I only had so much time I just did a big ol' match and used them all either in a Rumble style deal or do pinfalls depending on what I was in the mood for. I used 'em all. WWF, ECW, Jack from "Last Action Hero", fucking Skeletor, all was fair game. I would get lost in it all and would always be a tad annoyed when my parents called me for dinner or schoolwork (blech!) So why the fuck am I saying this? Because this was essentially what I did playing out in real life. I'm not the only kid that did this but seeing this put a huge smile on my face. Different companies? No problem! Potential matchups I didn't know I wanted until they're in the ring together? Hell, yeah, I want them all! It all just felt so wonderful and for 20+ minutes I could feel my younger self being very, very happy. I don't want this often and would hope they hold off on doing this again for a long time. But for tonight and the one before even I was 1000% here for it. Now getting back to my current self I find it amusing that Ospreay won both and he did state in the post-DON video he wants more gold. So this makes perfect sense and I can't wait to see him vs Swerve. Plus there's some really neat matchup possibilities that either I hope happen or feel have happened depending on the person. I know I really wanted Ospreay/O'Reilly and to my delight that's happening on Collision. So fuck yeah to all of that and then some, man. Edited May 30, 2024 by NikoBaltimore 10 3

Swerve vs. MJF could be the plan but I don't know what that would mean for Ospreay 1
