Edmonton. They underwent a name change a couple years ago.

Is Eskimos politically incorrect? Is it a Cleveland Indians/Guardians type situation?

Remembered that there was a section after a match where Ex was talking and Taz was just grooving away to the music like a goober for the entire time the camera was on them. Dad Taz is too good for words. He also sounded disarmed and almost hurt when saying "What did he just say? He's gonna retire the belt?"

The more I think about this episode the dumber it gets.

Forgot about that but that was hilarious and awesome, everyone loves hearing Kingston's epic theme again!

Didn't see anyone mention Kenny straight up saying "Uncle Don" gave him steroids as a high school athlete and JR's "wtf" look in response......

How did the TCM match compare to the WWE sponsorship matches?  Because this sucked

Jarrett isn't even good at these fucking matches, which is ya know, maybe a sign to stop putting him in these spots.  The Concession Stand Brawl with Mark Briscoe sucked too, and there was a couple other ones IIRC....Sting and Darby?  Straight out of TNA with this shit

I don't watch WWE, so I have no basis for comparison, but I enjoyed the Texas Chain Saw Massacre Death Match for what it was. Yes, it was ridiculous, but what do you expect from a match called the Texas Chain Saw Massacre Death Match? I'm suppose I'm bias toward it because I'm such a huge fan of TCM.

I've seen people on Facebook shitting on the match, spouting nonsense about how the TCM match is ruining professional wrestling. To that, I say pull the stick out of your ass and get the fuck over yourselves. It's professional wrestling. There's always been a ridiculous side. Facebook is a cesspool that's only good for posting cat pictures. The DVDVR is the only site where I care about the opinions of my fellow wrestling fans.

Ok. Rant over.

I liked this show, I don't know what y'all are bitching about.

If sponsored gimmick marches are going to be a a thing (they shouldn't be) this is the way to do them, just wacky fun with low card dudes who aren't going to be hurt being involved with this tom foolery.

Roderick Strong, geek with no friends, is the most entertaining he's been since Roderick Strong, guy who chops the shit out of Bryan Danielson, back in 06.

Roderick has friends, Mike Bennett and Matt Taven.

That's the same as having no friends

Eh, are they 'help you move' or 'Godfather your kid' friends? No - definitely not - but at the very least, I think they're at the level of a 'we need an extra guy for poker' friend, or a 'quick, there's doughnuts in the kitchen' work friend. Northeast bias I suppose

This article is a pretty good explainer:

https://www.npr.org/sections/goatsandsoda/2016/04/24/475129558/why-you-probably-shouldnt-say-eskimo

Typically when referring to them you want to use the name of the tribe or First Nations

Rule of thumb: if a sports team had to change their name, it's probably something that's no longer generally considered acceptable.

And it probably wasn't acceptable for quite a while before the sports team changed the name. They're not exactly quick about doing that.

Thanks, I'll check out the article. I've heard the term First Nations used before.

I finally got to watch Dynamite and I haven’t read this thread at all.

Everything after the great opening match with OC and Yuta, including the post-match angle, ranged from barely average to actively sucking hard. The “death match” between the Jeffs is instant Wrestlecrap hall of fame material.

They’ve officially run MJF-Cole into the ground and are killing Roderick Strong in the process. 25 fucking minutes of TV. The sketch was a little funny but really starting to stretch the limits. Then they bury Aussie Open, and then just fucking talk and talk and talk. Jericho angle was fucking painful. The Omega sit-down was fucking awful, and I LIKE Juice, White, and Lard Lad (who is being slowly buried).

Darby-Wayne vs. Gates of Agony was ok. That’s all it was.

Britt looked better than her previous two matches, so there’s that. But there was literally no intrigue to the 4-way the minute they unveiled the brackets.

Acclaimed get buried by House of Black. Why.

I barely paid attention the the main event, I give literally no shits about Ass Boys and Young Bucks wrestled their typical match.

I know hyperbole and present bias are all the rage but I think the Texas Chainsaw Massacre match is up there as one of the worst things I've ever seen in pro wrestling.

Rest of the show was meh. At least All In looks great.

I watched WCW through the bitter end. Shit, I actually bought the Uncensored with the Tower of Doom or whatever the fuck it was called. I saw a fair amount of the worst of the Attitude Era. That was absolutely the worst wrestling related thing I’ve ever seen,

Well, they finally decided not to shit the bed on Friday for the first time in awhile. Fenix/Komander was solid enough but of course they have a death move that they could center the whole rest of the match around (Komander rotates into a 100% legit straight-outta-Michigan Frankensteiner) but Fenix just kicks out and goes back on offense. Well, at least the crowd liked everything. Moxley looked like he was noting how full of shit it was when they panned to him and Claudio watching, haha. Aussie Open match was better; I guess Karate Man and Zay work fine together if they ain't got their partners around. Aussie should've said Page doesn't look like a wrestler unlike MARK DAVIS. Rob Zombie's group needs to go away. Sammy had a match, they talked about a shitload of matches, and the women's main was perfectly fine! So there ya go.

ain’t no way stuff like Viagra on a Pole, Turkey Gravy Bowl, or an evening gown match between Patterson and Briscoe were better than the TCM deathmatch.

I mean once things get to about 50 below zero what difference does it make?
