  10. Avoiding spoilers, so I'm just going to assume that's Batroc laying on top of Cap for 5 minutes.

  11. I forgot, the best thing about Reigns is that he makes FSW soil himself in rage.

  12. Roman Reigns is the truth. That dropkick spot on the floor is so great. He's more than just a power wrestler. He's like Anthony Davis in the NBA -- a big dude who is just hyper athletic, is already awesome, but still needs some refining. It also doesn't hurt that girls love the dude. And, yes, Bray Wyatt is already in the upper stratum of mic workers. Bray and Roman are running this game until 2025.

  13. Everyone is sleeping on the Big E/ADR match, it was pretty solid. You could tell they were working real hard to get the crowd back into it to no avail. When ADR is a vicious bastard he comes off pretty well and the smile on his face after he won was perfect.

  16. Has anyone mentioned the modified shirt that Lesnar has worn for the last two Raws? Could it be some potential fun if they could get several of those guys in the HHH burial video to show up at Wrestlemania? I want to see a pre-show roundtable in which Mick Foley, Chris Jericho, Booker T, RVD, and Scott Steiner are asked their opinions about Bryan vs HHH and they all basically get to cut some shoot-y sounding "fuck HHH" promos.

  20. Just getting home from the show, and it was one of the most fun live events I've ever been a part of. The only two I think I would rank higher are GSP vs. Serra in Montreal, and Couture vs. Sylvia in Columbus. Here are some random observations... John Cena, despite what anyone says is incredibly over. The pop for Cena was insanely loud and he is probably the only person other than Bryan that everyone in the building cared about. His promo was really good too. Bray Wyatt is probably the best fit in his gimmick as anyone on the entire roster. When he came on the titantron for his promo everyone stopped and paid attention to what he had to say. I was sitting around a few young kids who were very vocal, and they even stopped to listen. He had the entire audience in his hand as soon as he opened his mouth. Rosa Mendes has a mean walk, why is she not on TV every week? Summer Rae has the kind of heat with women that Summer Rae should have with women. When she came to the ring you could see every woman look at her man with the, "you would think she was attractive" face. The Shield's biggest pop happened during the commercial break as they were walking backstage. Billy Gun is just as tall as Kane, and is the all-time champ of guys who are much bigger than you thought they were on TV. Titus O'Neil is as physically imposing as anyone on the roster. He reminded me of the Charles Barkley story of the first time he seen Shaq. He said he was used to seeing humongous people while playing in the NBA, but the first time he seen Shaq he just thought to himself, "DAMN, THAT IS A BIG DUDE." Titus O'Neil is a BIG FUCKING DUDE. I'm going to have to have a conversation with my mom about never taking me to wrestling as a child, there were quite a few kids around me and every single one of them seemed to be having the time of their life. I'm not the sentimental sort, but it was awesome seeing kids who cared about wrestling as much as I did as a kid. The Yes Movement is incredible live, I don't know how much they showed before they cut away, but the entire crowd was cheering yes for a long ass time. He eventually went out into the crowd to get a sign that said, "The Yes Era" and it started all over again. The crowd was a little uneven, I don't know if it was burnout, because we did see Main Event, Superstars, Smackdown, and Raw or if everyone was pissed after HHH and Stephanie said Daniel Bryan wasn't going to be there. It really seemed like the crowd went a little flat, at least in my section when they thought Bryan was still selling the injury.

  21. I'm OK with how things turned out. That was really the only place the story COULD end up. I mean if you were someone who spent the 8 years hanging on the mother reveal it was probably disappointing. And they spent a LOT of time over those 8 years hinting that the mother reveal was the big endgame. So there are probably a lot of people disappointed. But that ending made total sense for the characters and the story they built. And they did drop a lot of hints. But seriously. What a ridiculous way to run the final season and finale. They dragged what should have been an hour long episode out to an entire season and crammed what should have been the entire final season into an hour long finale. I guess they didn't want to telegraph the ending too much? Or felt handcuffed by the "How I Met Your Mother" premise and felt they had to have that play into the finale? But they had what would have been a really good, logical, powerful final season contained in that last episode, and they skimmed over all of it. And gave us that excruciating season to build to it.

  28. I don't understand this 'Roman hasn't had a massive singles career so he eats ass' logic. The dude is awesome. The progress he's made traveling with Rollins and Ambrose has been bad ass to watch. Is he ready for his huge singles push? No. That's why the Shield is still together. But watching this charismatic bad ass grow and digivolve from green as hell into Babygurl Rock-Meng is part of why it's so much fun to love the dude. We're ground floor on the next big thing.

  29. He was awesome on the mic but I always felt he looked out of place when he actually wrestled, maybe because he was gigantic compared to everyone else. But his stuff with Shelley was top notch as was most of his other time talking. Nash should host a Tonight Show type-talk show on the WWE Network.

  30. Not sure this isn't a touch of hyperbole, but it reminds me of a comparison a friend made to me the other day. Bray on the mic = Mike Trout. If he's not the best guy out there today, (and you can make a damn good case that he is,) he's sure the hell in the upper echelon, and there's every possibility he could get even better.

  33. You know, I like Dolph Ziggler, and I like Rey Mysterio but the fact that in order to get Reys dropkick in Dolph had to do a sunset flip in a brawl was cringe worthy.

  34. I was about to post the TL;DR version of this, but I thought I was being too contrarian. I see people all over Twitter saying Cormier is going to smash him, but the one thing I give Shogun over Cormier is that Mauricio is a more dynamic finisher. The reason for that is he is willing to completely sell out for a knockout or submission. That has been his MO for his entire career. This guy use to roll for kneebars and leglocks without hardly any setup at all. When I thought there was a possibility of this fight in Strikeforce at HW, I saw it as a tepid 30-27 Cormier win. There has been little that has happened since then to change my mind. If you think Cormier is going to fight Henderson like he did Cummins, apparently you haven't seen the rest of Cormier's UFC run.

  39. The more I think about it, the ultimate conclusion of the series makes sense. But emotionally, I still feel ripped off .. as has been said before, they made both the Wedding and The Mother seem to be important to the story, and in the end they were just an afterthought to be discarded.

  40. Here's the thing about people talking on FB and Twitter, especially Twitter. In 140 characters, sure, it's going to seem like "GRRR, THIS IS ISN'T WHAT I WANTED." I think there are just as many people who are happy about the finale because they wanted Ted and Robin as there are people unhappy because they DIDN'T want Ted and Robin. Neither are the majority of complaints or praises though. And you're not getting what's bait and switch. It's not Tracy dying. They telegraphed that with the 45 Days speech. The bait and switch was that the show is HOW I MET YOUR MOTHER not HOW I MET YOUR MOTHER AND THEN ENDED UP WITH ROBIN. That's an extremely dumbed down version of what's going on, but it's also insanely true. There's more bait and switch too like the wedding and the moments with The Mother in the finale that were few and far between. But it's classic bait and switch which I think you have to agree with even if you liked the finale.

  41. Once again, I actually have no problem with Ted ending up with Robin. It's very much in character for both of them and follows both Ted's character development and Robin's lack of development. It didn't feel like Ted let Robin go so much as he accepted that he would move on, despite his feelings. And he did. Those feelings didn't go anywhere though. He just found peace with them and with the situation at large. That's what allowed him to find love elsewhere. To me the big issues are structural, in the actual execution, and most especially The Trouble With Barney.

  42. Cena got a fucking loud pop when he unmasked. And good fucking god did that mostly dead crowd come alive for D-Bry. And Hunter sold that ass-whipping like a champ. I loved when he got a couple punches in, and it looked like he might fight back, and then Bryan just annihilated him some more instead.

  43. This is essentially my entire point, they cut a player who was either too expensive or too much of a headache, but cutting him just wasn't enough, they decided to assassinate his character. When the LAPD is taking up for a black dude, you know you've gone too far with your bullshit. I love how DeSean Jackson has become unreliable on the field when he has always been productive when healthy. He has played with a series on unreliable quarterbacks, and is essentially a one trick pony, but when he is on the field he has to be accounted for and in the NFL that matters a lot. He is an elite deep threat on a team that passes the ball a whole lot, I think this is a bigger loss for the Eagles than they realize. One of the most rare things in the NFL is a player who can take the top off of the defense and keep the defensive backs honest, he can do that in a way very few players can. The main reason Manning and Brady lost the last couple Super Bowls they played is because the defense realized they couldn't beat them deep. You can beat average defenses without a legit threat to go deep, but you won't beat a good one.

  45. Volkoff: 1) has a really awesome origin story in how he escaped to the West. 2) great in mid south in 83-84 3) was absurdly over as a babyface in 90 4) legitimately hated the Soviet Union and felt like he was attacking them by portraying his bad guy character 5) is pretty touching in his HOF speech.

  46. FSN Impact was the best Impact. One hour, usually three matches with set time limits and they had the Fox Box with the time limit clock ticking down. Made it look like an actual sporting event instead of some bullshit soap opera about wrestling company owners.
