odessasteps
I totally had forgotten this very weird scene.
Burgundy LaRue
One of the lost gems from the countless board implosions are the threads where we reviewed various DC animated shows, episode by episode. We should think about doing that again. There's even more to cover now-- Batman: The Animated Series Superman: The Animated Series Batman Beyond Justice League (all 4 seasons) Batman: The Brave and The Bold Green Lantern: The Animated Series There's also Teen Titans, Static Shock, Young Justice, etc.
Brian Fowler
That reminds me, gonna have to break out the JL Christmas episode soon.
Cliff Hanger
There are five seasons of Justice League, not four. Seasons 3 and 4 were released together on one box set, but it was three 13-ep seasons separated by a year.
APO
There was a Green Lantern: The Brave and The Bold? Or is that just GL: TAS?
Burgundy LaRue
I hate APO for pointing out my non-perfection! *shakes fist* I made the needed correction.
twiztor
i just want the 90s Spider-Man cartoon series to be released on home video. with or without the SpiderMan Unlimited nonsense.
Eivion
The series finale to Korra was fantastic. Really liked where they took a lot of the characters by the end, and the way things were finally settled with the main villain was cathartic. The very end also went about as far they could on pleasing the shippers w/o pissing off too many others. I'm really going to miss this series. The first two seasons were good but fairly rough in some areas. These last two seasons though were just great and easily on par with the level of quality the A:TLA delivered. Matt D
We're finally marathoning Korra season 2 tonight. On episode 9. We'll have to finish up tomorrow. I did find this, which is pretty awesome. It's a blog post by DiMartino for the premise and outline for Beginnings Part 1 which we just watched.
Sutekh The Destroyer
Oh my God, i can't believe how cheap looking the animation for Ultimate Spider-Man: Web Warriors is. This is sub-par DiC level stuff here.
Bustronaut
It was even further ruined for me during their "Spider-Verse" storyline when they had CG animated segments in 2099 and better traditional animation in one of the other worlds. Spider-Girl, maybe?
Cliff Hanger
I remember being really excited when they showed the first stills of 2099 and it looked like deliberately 90s level (Reboot or Beast Machines) level stuff.
Dog
It was even further ruined for me during their "Spider-Verse" storyline when they had CG animated segments in 2099 and better traditional animation in one of the other worlds. Spider-Girl, maybe? Have those episodes even aired in the U.S.? P.S. If Sharky thinks that's bad, don't ever let him see Spectacular Spider-Man. nate
I thought Spectacular Spider-Man was supposed to be the good one. Or is that the MTV version that people like? Too many fucking Spider-Man cartoons if you ask me ...
odessasteps
I thought the good one starred Ms Lion.
Cliff Hanger
Spectacular has excellent writing, but a very polarizing art style. NOBODY likes MTV Spidey except maybe Lisa Loeb.
Sutekh The Destroyer
I thought the good one starred Ms Lion. It's actually kinda fun to show Spider-Man and his Amazing Friends to my god daughter and let her see how horribly written the cartoons from my era were. Though when I sit and watch Octonauts with her, I sometimes think cartoons were definitely better during my day.
nate
Yeah, Octonauts makes me want to punch myself in the balls.
Brian Fowler
Spectacular is the best non comic book Spidey ever, but the art takes some getting used to.
Cliff Hanger
Footage of TF: Robots in Disguise is starting to pop up, including the Japanese opening. It's prettier than I expected. I am still getting the impression that it'll be lighter and fluffier but after the relentless grimdark of Prime that might not be as bad as it feels to an aging fan. Cliff Hanger
Hulu added the complete runs of 90s X-Men, plus X-Men Evo, when I wasn't looking. (Basically all the stuff that vanished from Netflix mid-2014). For some reason they have all of 90s Spidey EXCEPT the two-part finale with the interdimensional Clone Saga and Peter meeting Stan Lee. Thankfully,Hulu doesn't put ads in their kids' shows.
Bustronaut
Why doesn't anyone have the '80s Hulk cartoon? That thing was awesome!
Johnny Sorrow
I figured this is the best place to mention this. Andrea Romano is on the newest Nerdist podcast and it's pretty awesome.
