England wins the Under 20 World Cup. Hopefully those boys will be met with patience, leading to another serious Three Lion Contender over the next few years.

The problem will likely be most of them wont get time at big clubs, either sitting in reserves or loaded out to championship sides.

Caught my first Cosmos game since 1983 over the weekend at MCU Park and had a big old time (sadly @sabremike was a no-show). There's no comparing this club to the golden days, not that they don't try, but they had a boisterous crowd of 2,000 or so on a beautiful afternoon. I'd be down for a whole lot more of their matches if we lived closer to Coney.

(9/2/1983, Cosmos 6-3 Toronto Blizzard. It was Cosmos Lunchbox Day, just in time for school to begin. My memory is INSANE.)

Canada beat Curacao in a friendly last night. I would be much more enthused if we managed to beat them at baseball.

It gets even better: according to eyewitnesses there was a giant brawl in the concourse and it was city fans fighting each other. Apparently the dispute arose when one group announced their intention to break/steal seats and another group (realizing that it would get them all banned from RBA) told them not to. Makes the fact that we chanted "don't steal the seats" at them after the game even funnier.

I want the Bengals to sign him to be our new QB.

Davy Klaassen to Everton. Have to admit, that seems like a very good thing for them.

I like the Pickford move too.

But I'm guessing we are not going to get GYLFI. :(

Not that the Confed Cup matters in any way, but it's somewhat odd that the presumably last competition will not have a Brazilian team. They always seemed to be the ones giving a shit.

The Ronaldo back to Man United rumours have kicked in again. Apparently he's upset that the Spanish tax office has been having a look at all the money he's been hiding from them.

All you fans of weather porn games must've enjoyed the NYCFC-Seattle match this afternoon. Match was played in a downpour which lead to a severely waterlogged pitch.

How bad has England gotten that people find it reasonable that someone would go there to dodge Spanish tax?

I went to Atlanta/Crew on Saturday. That was a fun atmosphere, as the smaller size of Bobby Dodd really gives that place a rowdy atmosphere. I have a feeling the hype around that team will dissipate a little bit once it moves into Mercedes because I can't see them selling out those games even with not offering tickets for part of the stadium.

Live that game was completely ridiculous, like playing soccer on a GD slip-n-slide. Thankfully we were in the first-base grandstand so we stayed dry the whole time.

GNR just played there two nights ago. And Iron Maiden are Hammers fans (Well, Steve Harris is, so the rest of the band has to be).
