Guest Edwin
Griezmann: "Right now, I've got no intention of leaving Atleti" This is something he's been saying for a while, but come every transfer window, he's rumored of being transferred to Chelsea which is clearly not happening for now. ReiseReise
City drawing today was somewhat unexpected. On the other hand...they haven't really been on point all season, have they? Hannover seems to be the Bundesliga's top candidate for relegation this year. 17 points after 26 games and they haven't shown any signs of of rallying as of now. Hoffenheim, on the other hand, seems to be on the verge of boucing back: 24 points after a 1-0 grinding against Wolfsburg mean a 3 pts deficit to one of the secure spots in the division. Darmstad gave away a two-goal-lead, conceeding the equalizer against relegation-battle-rivals within the dying minutes of the game. The netherregions of the table are as much a tense and dramatic afair as always.
odessasteps
I guess the year of the mid table continues. The FA Cup semi finalists are Palace Everton Watford West Ham/Manchester United.
ReiseReise
Leverkusen beating Hamburg in a close game by 1-0, thanks to an early own goal from Ekdal. Dortmund still kind of hunting Bayern. 2-0 win over Mainz. Two Dortmund fans suffered from heart attacks, one of those fatal. Apparently, this led to complete and utter silence inside the stadium. Seemingly pretty impressive accoustically, haven't Seen the match. Weird final stretch. Condolences to the family of the deceased.
Guest Edwin
The Clásico Nacional on Univision Deportes was a great game. The refs cost Chivas of a draw big time as it should've ended 2-2 but the first got goal was disallowed.

Randy
Has anybody here read "Red or Dead" by David Peace (same author as The Damned United)? I got it today and will be reading it after my current book.
ReiseReise
Realistically, and asking the guys in the know about BPL, which are the tricky games left for Leicester. They are playing an away game at ManU and West Ham & Southhampton at home. The rest is mid- and lower table, right? Still, anyone can beat anyone. Amazing season. StretchMediatedHypertrophy
They go away to Chelsea on May 15, which is no joke. But Tottenham also have to go to Stamford Bridge, as do Man City. I don't think any of the Top run-ins are significantly bettter/worse than anyone else's - a lot of pressure on Arsenal and Man City though; neither team can make 80 points and another loss and they can barely make 75. Pete
Realistically the title is probably out of reach. Then again, we said that in 2012 and 2014. (Hmmm... two years apart... it's two years since we won the title... you don't think...)
AxB
Of the top 4, Leicester's run in is the easiest on paper. But they don't play matches on paper, they play them on football pitches. Who would have thought that Rafa would start the season taking Real Madrid into the Champion's League, and end it taking Newcastle into the Championship? Although, if Sunderland stay up by one point or on goal difference everyone will say those are Adam Johnson's goals and if the club had a heart or a soul, he wouldn't have been playing... (Hmmm... two years apart... it's two years since we won the title... you don't think...) Anything is possible, but expecting Leicester to absolutely dog it at this stage requires a lot of imagination (Tottenham less so perhaps). 74 points might well get you the title, 72 is not even completely inconceivable - but it's pretty hard to imagine 70 being enough. Jiji
Newcastle are a point off Sunderland. If they continue to play as they did yesterday then they should survive.
Death From Above
The thing that makes Leicester's run so amazing is that they had a long successful run where they couldn't keep a clean sheet. That seems pretty against the grain of what you'd expect to see.
ReiseReise
About 30 minutes gone and Bayern is facing a mountain to climb against Juve, being down 0-2. Wouldn't have thought so after the dominant performance at Delle Alpi.

zev
I have just spent the last half an hour reading The Guardian's online updates of the Bayern-Juventus score, because I don't get the channel that it aired on live. Pleased with the results, and hoping for a Fox Sports local affiliate replay later this week.
SirFozzie
Something tells me Kingsley Coman isn't going to reappear at Juventus after his loan period at Bayern ends. Knocking out the team you're on loan from... (edit: To explain, Bayern paid Juventus 7 million for a two year loan, with a 21 million buy clause at the end of it.)
Death From Above
I totally stopped paying attention to Bayern/Juvi at half time because there was no way Bayern could do THAT twice against a team as strong as Juventus. Well, we can't be right all the time.
MoeCristyV.1.6
They had a 2:0 lead in the first game though. Thiago and Coman with 2 Beautiful goals.
SolidGoldBomb
Wow, monumental collapse from Juve there, so disappointing. They really could have been up 3 or 4-0 at one point, but then Allegri decides to take out all the speedy attackers and play Italian defense for the 2nd half of the game, and that is probably the dumbest thing you could do against a team with Munich's Offense. Bayern has some players who are just insanely good though, Douglas Costa, Lewandowski, Muller, Ribery, Vidal.... And then they just get overrun in extra time by Thiago and their old boy Coman, what a heartbreaker!
