Thomas Bugg
In order to be a truly good action movie, it's gotta have a bang 'em up shootout in the end. Big guns and sucky death everywhere, and it helps to have good choreography as well. Now what movie could have inspired me to create this thread? This one of course! Rambo with that .50 caliber was just RAW!!! And the sick fucking pedophile gets it BAD in the end. The only issue I had with this shootout was that the blond broad turned out to be completely fucking useless. Jingus
Yo: And this thread definitely needs some Woo all up in here. There's countless possibilities with his movies, but this awesome one-take sequence is one of the stronger contenders:
HumanChessgame
Extreme Prejudice is a very underrated 80s action flick and pretty much a modern western with a great ensemble cast. Speaking of modern day westerns, the final shootout of Way of the Gun- Del Torro and Philipe's characters really need another movie

Zimbra
God, Hard Boiled is like 60% shootout and it's amazing. Desperado is ridiculous but I love it:

Curt McGirt
I call dibs on posting the one from Rolling Thunder after I get off work. EDIT: "What the fuck are you doin'?" "I'm gonna kill a bunch of people." Beat that motherfuckers.
Curt McGirt
I could probably do this all night. Peckinpah wins again. In context, this is cold as ice. EDIT: In looking for that I wanted the machine gun battle from later, but this works. And speaking of machine guns

Kuetsar
Hard Boiled is a great flick, but the shootouts are so numerous it becomes almost numbing by the end. . .
The Comedian
Honesty the best shoot-out in Hard Boiled is the opening one in the tea house. Chow Yun-Fat covered in flour and the blood of the guy who killed his partner makes for a great visual at the end...
