Tabe
Hope Federov thanks Anna Kornikova in his speech. He should thank Carolina for the $28m he got for half a season worth of work. Loved Sergei with the Wings. He was magic with the puck.
Serious Darius Bagfelt
Coffey was underrated defensively mainly because his exceptional skating could bail him out. That play breaking up the 2 on 1 in the 1984 Canada Cup semi against the Russians then taking the puck down the ice for the eventual winning goal was Paul in a nutshell. Not that surprised about Housley especially since Larry Murphy got in but figured Phil would be one of those 1000 point guys that came along when a glut of guys hit the 1000 point plateau and it stopped being an automatic milestone for the HOF. Maybe because he is the top scoring American defenceman ever helped him out
Dewar
Housley as of right now is the 38th highest scorer in the history of the league, and 4th highest scoring defenseman. Sure, he didn't actually play much defense, but his offensive numbers should be enough to get him in. Edit: Just went and checked, and there's only 3 eligible players with more points than Housley not in the hall: Mark Recchi, Dave Andreychuk, and Pierre Turgeon. How the hell are those three not in the HOF? Edited June 30, 2015 by Dewar
elizium
Recchi will make it for sure. The other two should probably be in as well, but for whatever reason people discount Andreychuk's 600 goals because they were scored from 2 feet away and Turgeon had the rep when paying of being a flake and soft, which is probably holding him back. Turgeon is one of those guys that sneak up on you, you look at his stats and realize that he was productive pretty much until 2001. He did miss a lot of games though.

Tabe
Recchi and Andreychuck both belong in. Turgeon might be a great candidate for being the "If you're better than this guy, you get in" guy. Wouldn't hurt the Hall at all if he was in though. Shame his best season was ruined by maybe the cheapest cheap shot of all-time.
Serious Darius Bagfelt
Tough sometimes when you start looking at point totals. Federov always seemed like a HOF guy to me. then you look and see he had less points in more games than Bernie Nicholls. Federov of course was great at both ends of the ice. The HOF voting committe is such a closed door process no one outside ever knows who is getting consideration and who is falling by the wayside
Death From Above
Bruins trading Martin Jones to the Sharks for a 1st is actually not bad for them. They basically got 2 first round picks for Lucic. So maybe they only do smart things in California? I bet the Kings are thrilled Jones ended up with the Sharks. Quality Bruins trolling.
Dewar
Jets re-sign Drew Stafford, 2 years, 4.35 million average. Like the length of the contract, and salary is alright too.

His production also fell off a cliff after leaving Detroit but his two-way play was tremendous.
ChesterCopperpot
And the purging of the Hawks has begun - Brandon Saad off to Columbus. Anisimov and Dano heading the other way edit: full details #CBJ acquire Brandon Saad and two prospects from #Blackhawks for Anisimov, Dano, Morin, Troop and a 4th rd pick in 2016
Death From Above
Could be a good deal for both teams if Dano pans out. I wonder what Pittsburgh offered.

Jiji
Ding dong the Bieksa's gone. Saad's the best player in that deal by far. I like Anisimov and Dano looks an okay prospect but Saad is a really good secondary scorer.

Jiji
Kapanen, Harrington and a 1st. That doesn't seem like a very good return but, hey, the tank is fully on now. Is the plan to move both Kessel and Double Dion in the same summer? Calgary and Edmonton overspend on Frolik and Sekera but I guess they see this as their chance to make the playoffs (again for Calgary).
